Is it some kind of special run??
    "Special"..No

Think of it like a Cabbage Patch Doll in the 80's, Tickle Me Elmo in the 90's, and Black Friday

Same principle just for men who like bourbon
    Have:
XLBGE / Stumps Baby XL / Couple of Stokers (Gen 1 and Gen 3) / Blackstone 36 / Maxey 3x5 water pan hog cooker
    Had:
    LBGE / Lang 60D / Cookshack SM150 / Stumps Stretch / Stumps Baby

    Fat Willies BBQ
    Ola, Ga

I am partial to EH Taylor and that is an impressive pour.  Better to be lucky than good right there.  Sweet.

  • nice score JIC!  came here to report i found eagle rare and four roses single barrel OESK to try. $45 each. better price than i typically see for eagle rare and first time i in a while that have seen these four roses with the recipe on the bottle ribbon. no luck for anything more elusive at msrp. the store was selling all the allocated weller, eh one pappy, elmer, etc at mega markup.

for any atlanta / north ga folks - it’s the one behind dawsonville outlets.  they have a buffalo trace sign / advertisement at the outlet malls so it’s not like i am leaking a secret honey hole.

What was that BBC Fusion Series number as that lineup has been closed out?  I have enjoyed that run at a slightly elevated price point for a few years.  Origin Series for a solid pour that is at a decent price point and out there.

Thanks as the last one in the series is Number 9.  If you find it buy it as long as it's not a secondary market find.

While in NC this week I was able to pick up two bottles of Buffalo Trace and a bottle of Eagle Rare at MSRP.

Nice!  I’m curious where you were in NC, if you don’t mind sharing?  I’ve rarely seen either of those on the shelves of the ABC stores in my area.

    @JohnInCarolina happy hunting

this website says 2,513 cases of eagle rare in the state warehouses today. that’s a lot!  i bet it’s says cases but it’s actually bottles
    https://abc2.nc.gov/StoresBoards/Stocks

in a neighboring county (maybe there’s a website like for other NC abc groups?  let us know if you find one) there is a website with store inventory
     https://wakeabc.com/search-our-inventory/

it showed eagle rare bottles available in 5 stores around Cary, Raleigh, Wendell.

I was in Shelby, NC. The first ABC store I went to had 1 of each and the 2nd had one BT.

Thanks man.  These are helpful.  I don’t think there is a tool like this in our county but I’ll check.

the wakeabc website sure is unique for store inventory and that it shows counts of eagle rare like a regular shelf item. it looks like nc allows county variation.  that might be better than virginia because they seem to do the entire state the same way and they change the approach.

by the way looking again there are a few more raleigh stores with 30 bottles of eagle rare since the query this morning.  shotgunal  delivered a timely tip!!!

the durham county drop program is one to watch since it includes eagle rare and even buffalo trace as special drop day only limit 1 etc bottles.

good luck and hope to see you land some good ones without too much shenanigans and also at msrp. like a blantons or elmer.  i see eh taylor small batch and blantons at some raleigh stores right now.

not seeing anything as sophisticated as either option in the west nc abc where i would occasionally go fishing.

above the “eagle rare and BT line” for georgia is all heavy markup. fair enough but this was fun example of an abc to dig into a little bit
