Looking to gauge interest in Zoom session Friday 1/24; doors open at 5 PM EST-
lousubcap
Posts: 34,285
As the title says, a few members have expressed an interest in "getting the band back together" for a Zoom on 1/24. Would like to get a sense of interest from the forum before kicking this off.
If interested please post below no later than PM 1/22.
Interest means people are requested to stop in for a few minutes to engage with others, not an entire evening commitment unless by your own choice.

"The backstory for those who are new to the forum and wonder what this thread is about.
When the covid lock-down/shutdown commenced in March/April 2020 @JohnInCarolina obtained a personal Zoom account that he offered for use to engage forum members otherwise in the self isolation mode. The Zoom sessions happened EVERY Friday evening until May 2021.
Anyone and everyone was welcome. The objective was to create an atmosphere where free-flowing conversation about a wide range of topics was encouraged. This was routinely achieved. BBQ and BGE were low on the list of things discussed. Any hobby or interest was fair game and everyone definitely learned a lot.
To keep things flowing and not get heated, religion and politics make up the third rail and are off-limits.

However, if there will be significantly increased participation with politics and religion in the mix, then we can roll with those during the later stage of the evening or early morning."

My Zoom/iMac combo failed me the last two times, this is good incentive to get my mac Studio up and running finally.___________
They call them heated seats ... because rear defroster was already taken.

@Botch you can give it a practice run as the zoom session is always available independent of any forum related event.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Out of the gate the response is underwhelming. No worries @Stormbringer as we can clean up the Speakeasy and roll for a while on the 24th.
Left-handed bump.

hey— will definitely check in. just like back in the heyday— late night drop in around 9pm eastern or later works better for me. if it’s empty, no sweat, easy to just wait around a few or check back 30 min later.
maybe some of the folks who keep in touch outside of the forum can reach out to get some awareness and interest. i think the “recent 5 posts” forum main view is a tough hurdle.

Due to circumstances where I have been drawn into a vortex I have not been as aggressive in promoting this event as in year's past. However it is time to get the Speakeasy ready to go for Friday night.
Plan for a stress relieving Friday night (doors open at 5 PM (EST)) and drop in to listen or offer some insights, laugh and learn something every time. Guaranteed to be entertaining. You will enjoy yourself however long you visit. Drinks are by personal choice-could be a challenge in the throes of dry January. But those of you so inclined can power thru.

Reserve your seat for the Friday night gathering. You can be a part of something forum epic (or not... ).
