Putin did it with Crimea, then amassed a massive tank battalion on the border and raced in to stop “Nazis”.alaskanassasin said:I never thought I’d be in a forum where someone was literally saying go kill other people and their post got 3 agrees and a like.
It looks like countries around Russia had a right to fear Putin and made their desire to join NATO a pretty good decision.
NATO didn’t threaten Russia, it’s a pact for bigger stronger countries to come to the aid of smaller countries if Russia or China attack them. I highly recommend you research NATO, Russia, and past behaviors before you publicly support Putin and blame the US for the invasion.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

No real words for this. I am very sorry you are dealing with this type of thing in 2024. It makes me incredibly sad. I was spitting mad at first, but now just sad. Amazed that hate like this still lives on.caliking said:Seems like a good spot to drop this…

Spent the evening with friends having food and drinks, now kicking back on the patio with more drinks. This is a total buzzkill.I am truly sorry your family is being subjected to this hatefulness.LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA -
@caliking does your wife’s organization accept donations?
Also it is written like the world’s worst poem. Spelling, punctuation, just the overall structure seems like a 5th grade attempt. Feel almost bad for the prick who is so stupid and so consumed by hate. What an awful miserable way to live.
The community is lucky to have your wife participating.

I appreciate the enquiry about donations. The point of my post was to highlight where the OP's line of thinking ends up.
caliqueen spearheaded celebrating Durga Puja ( a very quintessential Bengali festival/celebration that is more about Bengali culture, than religion) a few years ago in our area. Several hundred people attend, and we work our arses off each year. It's actually on this weekend, so we're busy.
Ironic that we got this in the mail this week, and I happened to check in and see this thread. Morons gonna moron, but this is apparently where America is now.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

If you think I don’t know what NATO is and that I support Putin my words are either wasted on you or you want to fling mud because you’re being lazy. This is all pretty effing far from OK. I can’t imagine how you and caliqueen feel after getting something like that. So hateful. I’m so sorry you received it, but also that we’ve gotten to the point in this country where some aholes feel that’s the right thing to do.caliking said:Seems like a good spot to drop this…

Cali that is awful. the event sounds great and important for everyone. hope the police are aware of the threat and there is some investigative effort. this type of ignorance will always rear its ugly head and the work to eradicate it is extremely valuable to America. thanks for being you and keep it up!

You and Bill are listening to the wrong podcasts, man. This is Russian propaganda and it has been proven over and over again. Just look at the latest batch of useful idiots who (allegedly) didn’t even know they were getting paid huge sums of money to spew Russian talking points (Tim Pool, Dave Rubin and others). Guess what all of them were saying? That we pushed Russia into this via NATO expansion and Russia has a right to defend its sovereignty, that we shouldn’t be over there at all, that we are spending money in Ukraine that we should be spending at home, and now, that we don’t have any money to help NC because of Ukraine etc.alaskanassasin said:
I am not sure but I think we are partially responsible for Putin attacking Ukraine because of nato expansion. I can just imagine young kids being pulled from their homes on both sides for a mandatory draft to fight and ultimately getting kicked until you stop. But it is creating jobs in the USA and using up old ammo stock, no American is getting hurt so there’s that.Ozzie_Isaac said:

oh- and if anyone is interested in why FEMA funds are in question:
https://www.newsweek.com/republicans-voted-against-fema-funding-1963980
100 republicans (including Matt Gaetz-his district took the direct hit from Helene) voted against funding FEMA while the storm was approaching (fortunately for those dumb asses, it passed with bi-partisan support). JD Vance skipped the vote and is out railing against the government response on the trail this week.Btw- these 100 congressman and senators are the same people who are on the side of Russia and against the US and our allies. So congrats for drinking the same Kool-Aid they are, I guess.

Turns out that NATO expansion is used by Putin to justify his invasion, but his own desire to expand and reduce the ability of NATO to be effective are the real reasons. Anything that hurts the U.S. and other Western nations are side benefits for him.I would not be surprised if Russia talked Iran into instigating the October 7 attack on Israel that led to the Middle East wars, as an effort to distract the U.S. and cause us to send more arms there, reducing the military aid available to Ukraine.
Somewhere on the Colorado Front Range -
Sad. That's next level racism and bigotry. @caliking be alert and stay safe.
As @Buckwoody Egger said, I wonder if the police can/will look into this, perhaps try a finger print search for starters. But again, that's probably not a good idea, since the sicko knows where you live.canuckland -
I apologize if I misunderstood. You did say, “ we are partially responsible for Putin attacking Ukraine because of nato expansion.” Which lead me to conclude you thought Putin was justified and you thought NATO was to blame.alaskanassasin said:If you think I don’t know what NATO is and that I support Putin my words are either wasted on you or you want to fling mud because you’re being lazy. I have some acquaintances who say the same exact things and they are avidly and openly pro-Putin (after this they became ex-acquaintances). Since you share their talking points I lumped you in with them. Which honestly surprised me, because based on our interactions over the years you seem like a pretty level headed dude who is informed.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I hate this for you and your family, Ashish. And in Houston, recognized as the most culturally diverse large city in the US.
It's a few, trying to ruin it for the many because their lives haven't worked out the way they wanted and they can't stomach looking into the mirror. Or they cling to some romantic vision of the past as told by their openly racist ancestors (all descended from immigrants) who make bizarre claims to America as their country and culture - while conveniently ignoring the history of native Americans, immigration and their own families' history of immigration. This has never gone away, but the deliberate and open fanning of these flames over the past decade and a half have turned it into the manipulative lever being weaponized for gain. Every time we make an excuse for someone or hear comments and just let it slide, we're allowing these types of things to happen.
Be well and keep your family close. I can't imagine how this feels, I can't imagine how to navigate raising a child with this and I most certainly cannot walk in your shoes. You treat and care for and cure children, anyone's children and you and Caliqueen are pillars of all of your communities in Houston.
For someone to try to reduce that to skin color or recentness of immigration or religion or whatever is disgusting.
We're with you, Brother.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Things are really bad in north Carolienah. Heres another picture the MSM don want you to see!

To the original topic and again the misinformation and rumors getting traction. NC will need continued federal support into and most of next year. Vote thoughtfully, who would play games with federal support or make it conditional and who just provides it because it is needed, regardless of who needs it.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

And everyone knows the weather control machines are in the arctic, not Antarctic. Duh.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

I suspect more support than people even imagine. Current damage estimates range from $15B-$26B ….. insurance payouts are estimated to only cover $5B-$15B. This is due to carveouts and caveats in the fine print. So we potentially have an entire region with $21B in uncovered damage. I would also consider who will reign in the insurance companies. An example of a caveat is, “Wind Driven Rain”. Then you get into the falling water vs. rising water debate. Best bet would be to have your electric car catch fire and burn your house down. Although there is probably an exclusion for that too.Legume said:To the original topic and again the misinformation and rumors getting traction. Watching Windy.com forecast for my location. Second time in a week for me. Will start feeling the effects of Hurricane Milton Wednesday about 9:00 am. The eye will pass just north of our location Thursday at about 10:00 am.The back wall of the storm will pass thru at 10:00 thru 7:00 pm and be gone by Friday at 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. It is going to be a huge, slow moving storm with highest predicted wind gusts of 49 mph for my location.Ubi panis, ibi patria.
