No bait. They are becoming more common, but this has been a very wet year, prolonged spring. We've had plenty of 90s, just an anomaly that it hasn't hit 100 in Denver. Outlier, not trend.Buckwoody Egger said:

It was a great opportunity to see two perspectives on a dataset. Maybe I should have said “challenge” instead of “bait” to avoid the risk of a negative connotation.

Formulating a business plan can be the roll of the die. In this case, the reasons have nothing to do with the tech, but just the dynamics of the markets.WildmanWilson said:How’s this possible? Another spoon fed EV innovator bites the dust.
”Proterra sold 199 electric buses last year out of 66,000 sold in total (IEA data). It targeted a very slow-growth, conservative launch market (the US) while its key competitors (Tata, BYD, Dong Feng, Volvo, etc.) were playing into very rapid growth launch markets.”
so what’s your point? Even the petroleum sector is subsidized through tax breaks.______________________________________________I love lamp.. -

Judith Curry, lol. If hundreds of our top astrophysicists from around the globe were insisting an asteroid was about to strike the Earth and wipe out humanity, I swear you clowns would seek out the sole retired one in Hays who was saying sure it’ll hit us but it won’t do any real damage.WildmanWilson said:Very good read from a former climate scientist that tells why they do what they do."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I’m really not sure why you think this is a point in your favor. Hansen made a forecast 50 years ago that has proven to be damn accurate, particularly in light of the computational power he had access to at the time.WildmanWilson said:
But if they had predicted the asteroid strike for 50 years and was wrong every year, well, some are smart enough to not continue to fall for it.JohnInCarolina said:

Some people are a little slow on the uptake, but cherry picking data is misleading if you struggled through grade school.WildmanWilson said:Another snowball I know spews alarmist garbage like you sheep do. Your point was guy says they are stronger and more potent now but you cherry pick the data from the one country that’s an outlier in the global trends and lament how science is abused. All the data is wrong, but hey, look at this.WildmanWilson said:
I posted the link to all the hurricanes to hit America from NOAA and you still try to tell me that's somehow wrong. It’s not a some obscure graph with adjusted data. You can literally look at every Cat 1-5 hurricane. They even tell you that the early ones are likely under reported. Even at that, they were a little worse from 1950 back. Twist it, flip it, or turn it upside down if you want. Hard facts are hard facts. You believe what the puppet master tell you and nothing more.nolaegghead said:

You know, I actually want to thank you for this, because it just clearly illustrates that you’re just not worth engaging with on this subject or any other really. You’re just not arguing in good faith. All you do is practice keyboard diarrhea.WildmanWilson said:Here’s a good read for you uneducated snowballs. This has been fun so far.
If I had to vote for one of them, I'm almost impressed with Haley; and Christie has had the best zingers so far (still an egotistical a**hole). No mention of dear leader so far, except right before the 2nd break.
Everything just changed after this second break (I've got some bathroom pauses in the feed). Apparently they all got coached on how to raise their hands to a yes/no question during the break.
I'll stop for now.

Probably a conversation for another time, Frank, but on the grants score - Watters has no clue what he’s talking about.lousubcap said:JohnInCarolina said:Within his specific comments about climate change, he does point out a reasonable path of how the $$ flow in the grant world.Clearly the true argument is data based science but that would not put eyeballs on the screen."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Does Watters ever have a clue?

@Botch - read it just fine. The para that was revealing to me was the following:“We’re in the business of pricing to risk,” Matt Mayrl, vice president of strategy, performance and partnerships at American Family Insurance, said in an interview. “Sometimes your price can’t match your risk.”Said another way since the insurance companies exist to make $$ once you get a risk profile that may not get you the $$, time to abandon ship. That move is now accelerated by the recent weather related claims.
