NASA and the JWST did really wow the crowds with their pix release today!

Question: Three of the pics from JW are of nebula. I'm assuming those are within our own galaxy, the JW surely can't photograph nebula within other galaxies, can it?

Yes we can see some nebulae in some other galaxies. Offhand I do not know if the ones in the JWST pix today are in the Milky Way or elsewhere.

This, was actually the most stunning JW photo I've seen so far. A planet orbiting another star!! And apparently the sensors detected both oxygen and water.
