Another recent case of abused history is the recycling of "America First", the WWII nationalist movement that was marred by anti-semetic and pro-fascist rhetoric.  Ironically, putting America first in terms of the pandemic would be getting vaccinated to do your part in keeping fellow American's from the devastating social, economic and health ramifications of disease and the very people who refuse to pitch in because they're putting themselves first (in their minds).

We're so lucky.

Two days ago the CEO of SouthWest Airlines testified, before congress, that masks on flights bring very little added safety to the passengers.  I thought it odd that a CEO (who is hired to maximize profits) was questioned, rather than an expert on airliner airflow/communicable diseases (what's the name of that profession??)).
Tonight, it was just reported that the SWA CEO has tested positive for COVID. And he's changed his stance on masks aboard airplanes.  
Imagine that.  
 
I should probably quit saying this, but damn I'm glad I'm old and have no kids to worry about.

Unfortunately I think what I found is quite the case.  F' me.  

Only about 30% of people eligible for the booster have received it.  Frankly I think they made a mistake calling it a “booster” - the name alone almost signals it’s unnecessary.

There may be a possibility that no one has mentioned yet.  Omicron is by far the most infectious strain, and because can hit vaccinated and unvaccinated alike, and at least in the US masks are kind've an afterthought, there's a good chance that everyone will be exposed, in short order.  It also appears to be very mild, only one person in GB and one in Texas dying from it (that I've seen).  
It would be a blessing if the antibodies we form after an Omicron infection also end up protecting us against Delta or other upcoming variants, sort of a natural protection.  
 
And some real good news, the FDA approved a Pfizer pill that apparently reduces hospitalizations in infected people 89%.

crime is nothing new.  crime in the age of social media allows that smash and grab mob crap.  schools of fish and herds of antelope figured out long ago there was safety in numbers.

just got an email from a friend that lives down in mexico city, came back for the holidays and his family came down with covid this week. actually good timing, three liver transplants and they are giving him infusions every other day. better here than there.  tough mothah fu..ah.
