You trying to troll BuckeyeFork by posting the score of the recent OSU-Michigan game is the content I came for this morning. I bet that one really stung, LMAO! That might be one of the dumbest things I've seen on this forum in a long time. @littlepecker56 then liking your failed embedded video is the icing on the cake. Are you guys taking direction from @Lit or something?pgprescott said:

I’ve been watching the Durham v Sterling game for a while, so good, but so one sided.
You might want to think about hanging up the cleats, Maradona.@PeteSliver, RIP -

very predictable. Try not to sound so angry. -
Hovering near the third rail, but until I worked in close proximity to our nations' leadership I hadn't realised where the power actually resides here in the UK either.JohnInCarolina said:

People think the "US government" consists of just politicians. It's a lot more than that. There are a whole bunch of people who work for the federal government who aren't elected, and I can promise you, within that cohort - ethics is taken plenty seriously.
You have the Government which is comprised of a series of popularity contest winners, then there's Parliament which provides due process and then there's Whitehall that houses a concoction of recent graduates, life-long bureaucrats and a welter of 'special advisors'. It's the final group that wields power.Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay -
Well, would you look at the big brain on Prescott.I’m not really an OSU fan, tbh. But as a fan of college football, I do appreciate that Michigan was able to rise up and take one from them. Competition is good. Chronic, systemic cheating is not.
Something, something, book by its cover, etc.
Arguing with the forum version of hand puppets, that’s one for your memoirs when you do write them.

I have noticed that all the cooking posts are on one or 2 threads. The rest seems like a lot of silliness that has nothing to do with why the rest of us come here (cooking on a BGE). Especially on this one. I don’t think I want to catch up. Sheesh.littlerascal56 said:
At this point, it will take you days to read enough posts to figure out that JIC and NOLA rule this forum. They monitor it “minute by minute”, as they don’t have a real life. Nothing….I mean NOTHING gets posted without them reading it in real time, and a comment issued within minutes (or seconds). And it’s not necessarily related to BBQ or BGE topics. Kind of creepy isn’t it? LOLPook said:I just opened this for the first week time. I am 71,300 posts and 2379 pages behind! I’ll never catch up at this point. -
Ignore this guy, he's a troll that tried doxing me with my home address and full name and who posted a series of politically charged threads that were all deleted by the moderator.Pook said:

Haha, ok we have all had our fun. Any chance you all can take your little measuring contest to its own thread?
Historically, this is the time of year The Buffalo sinks or moves this thread. I would like to avoid that outcome this year.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@pgprescott Perhaps as a Big Green Egg dealer (via https://jimprescottsbbqshop.com/) and therefore a proxy representative of the Big Green Egg company, I would think that you're held to a higher standard than most by not trolling their (and your) customers, and supporting with "likes" those that do. Personally, I don't care. I'm just reminding you to be civil as you presumably have a business stake in that dealership. On the up-side, at least you haven't accused another of their customers as being a pedophile lately. Pretty sure I have a screen shot of that somewhere if you don't remember.

The first Brit I ever worked with dropped the real C word in a meeting as casual as saying hello. It was hilarious watching the meeting grind to a complete halt and everyone stared at my friend. The leadership was left completely dumbfounded. He probably could have kicked a puppy and not had the same dramatic impact.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I’ve been calling you Pete all this time, I didn’t realize your name is Jim. Apologies, Jim.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

If it's the C word I think it is, it's interpretation is taken more lightly there, based on my understanding. In the US, it's not on the UK equivalent of Carlin's "7 dirty words". Probably one of our UK friends can clarify if I'm off-base.Ozzie_Isaac said:

Just like we whistle and clap for support here, the whistling part of that is equivalent to booing in some places like Germany. (I learned that first hand

That is what my buddy told me when I pulled him aside and explained to him that in the US that is probably king taboo. Not really sure of another word that really can silence a room in the same.way.nolaegghead said:

What!? That is pretty cool cultural difference. So whistling at a lady is doubly bad in Germany.nolaegghead said:Just like we whistle and clap for support here, the whistling part of that is equivalent to booing in some places like Germany. (I learned that first hand

That's what I was told, but this was back in the 70s. It may have changed as American pop culture is pervasive through media.Ozzie_Isaac said:

Damn, some things hit close to home. One of my squad mates 5 year old had a massive kidney failure this weekend and is awaiting a transplant. I can’t imagine going through that, especially around the holidays.Las Vegas, NV

Whistling at football here is basically telling the ref to blow the final whistle because we've had enough Fergie time and our bus parking is looking a bit shaky (I'm sure Ed will be along to translate shortly).

Depends on the company you're in. Stood on the shop floor, you can pretty much introduce any swear word into the conversation seamlessly. In a meeting, keep it polite unless you know everyone and have the history to back up use of casual swearing. The C word is usually for special occasions, not with people you don't know well and not in female company. Maybe the guy just wanted to make an impression - it clearly worked.
