I’ve only ever used generic brands and I’ve just now started looking in to Meat Church for my rubs. What do you all use on your butts?

Just curious why you're limiting yourself just to the Meat Church brand?"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Nothing wrong with Meat Church rubs. I picked up Deez Nuts this afternoon for my pulled pork. Lots of other great brands as well.
I also like their Holy Cow, Honey Hog, and Honey Hog Hot."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Maybe something not too salty.

I usually use a mix of honey hog and honey hog hot, depending on the crowd.

My vote is for Honey Hog Hot. A pork butt is a big piece of meat. It would be difficult to over season from the outside, i.e. a rub. I would also highly recommend Dizzy Pig's Dizzy Dust. (the dude that owns it, and I would assume created the rub, is a forum member) @Nature Boy

Holy Voodoo is one of my favorites from Meat Church.

I would go:
1. Voodoo (on anything--veggies, red meat, chicken, pork)
2. Holy Gospel (pretty versatile but usually use it on brisket or beef ribs)
3. Honey Hog Hot (amazing on pork)West Midtown, ATL, GA. Large BGE. -
A second vote for Honeyhog Hot here.

I will have to try Honey Hog Hot next time. One time I just used Kosher Salt as one of our guests is on a no sugar diet. Served Vinegar based sauce on the side and it worked out great.
My new favorite is the Holy Cow rub for beef. -
Try blues hog savory/spicy. I mix up my own, to get the spicy heat and flavor I go after, then use a peach glaze over top. The crust is amazing. We normally stand around the egg picking the char off the cooking grate, with a couple glasses of a Pinot Noir Rosé.

I think you should pick up and use Albukirky Seasonings "Green Chile" rub for pulled pork. I promise you, it is not a heavy chile flavor, nor is it spicy. However, it does produce some of the best tasting pulled pork I've ever made.
Not to mention, Kirk the owner is a great guy and fellow egghead!
