Univex Max; 12” blade, 1/2hp.

Bought for two six-packs, and a song from my buddy @Photo Egg

Sliced up some horseradish cheddar, and made grilled cheese sammiches with the pain au bacon (added Habanero Death Dust + shredded gruyere) from last week. Hit the spot!

Works like a charm.

Thanks again, Darian!

I can’t wait to see your newly newly remodeled kitchen @caliking which will obviously be designed around this magnificent culinary necessity. She’s a beauty and I’m more than a little envious.  Looking forward to future posts.

There were a couple of benjamins singing, but not nearly the choir that should have.

More importantly, I knew it came from a good home.

Dang, that is a score! I’ve made one batch of bacon this year mostly because I hate slicing it all.

I remember that score, @lkapigian. Free is the best price!

I ordered this stuff for the slides (assuming yours are straight/true):
    Petrol-Gel Lubricant, 4oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002TWJ2L0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BJ703EYVYY7MS9HA1AAR

Cali has no room for a rice cooker, but can store that behemoth?  I want to know where too.
Exactly this! I don’t have space for a damned slicer! Next batch of bacon I’m sending to Texas for Cali to slice.

    I’ll take my “cut”, though.

To clarify, it wasn’t exactly a space issue. Her exact words were “this house isn’t big enough for both a rice cooker and me.”

So, I bought an Instant Pot. Which is used to cook... rice! Almost daily =)

@northGAcock - tentatively planning on storing it in the formal dining room (which we’ve used 5 times in 11 yrs), or my office at work.

The formal dinning area. That will be a nice place to keep it. Maybe put a table cloth over it or purchase a sterling silver blade cover (just to dress it up). We will be expecting pictures.

You could also store it in the master bedroom given that you won’t be sleeping there anytime soon.
oh, that thought did cross my mind. But, there are lines that even I dare not cross.

As a testament to our 17+yrs of marriage, this thing was out on the counter for 14hrs, before caliqueen asked " so is that going to live on the counter, or do you have a spot for it?"

She also thought it was a loaner. I had to gently break the news that it was now a part of the family. I think she made a mental note to bury me with it.
There is a step before burial that you may have overlooked, where an industrial slicer could come in handy.
