Monster slicer!
caliking
Posts: 19,780
Univex Max; 12” blade, 1/2hp.

Bought for two six-packs, and a song from my buddy @Photo Egg.

Sliced up some horseradish cheddar, and made grilled cheese sammiches with the pain au bacon (added Habanero Death Dust + shredded gruyere) from last week. Hit the spot!

Works like a charm.
Thanks again, Darian!
A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Must have been one he!! of a beer! Great slicer, deal and anything with habanero has me sold. Sweet eats right there!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Glad the BEAST found a good home. It was a great deal for me. I scored it at a good price and passed it along. @caliking threw in a great 12 pack assortment and some of his home cured bacon. Truly a win-win hand off today. The man knows beer and bacon!
Thanks BuddyThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
I can’t wait to see your newly newly remodeled kitchen @caliking which will obviously be designed around this magnificent culinary necessity. She’s a beauty and I’m more than a little envious. Looking forward to future posts.IL

Slicer, beer, grilled cheese, and bacon-oh my! The things dreams are made of!

Dang, that is a score! I’ve made one batch of bacon this year mostly because I hate slicing it all.Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle

Bro... Do you even forum?!?!!blind99 said:Dang, that is a score! I’ve made one batch of bacon this year mostly because I hate slicing it all.
In such situations, the solution is clearly " I hate slicing bacon. Where can I get a slicer? I don't care how big it is!"
NOT "I won't make more bacon."

I remember that score, @lkapigian. Free is the best price!
I ordered this stuff for the slides (assuming yours are straight/true):

Exactly this! I don’t have space for a damned slicer! Next batch of bacon I’m sending to Texas for Cali to slice.Ozzie_Isaac said:

To clarify, it wasn’t exactly a space issue. Her exact words were “this house isn’t big enough for both a rice cooker and me.”Ozzie_Isaac said:

So, I bought an Instant Pot. Which is used to cook... rice! Almost daily
@northGAcock - tentatively planning on storing it in the formal dining room (which we’ve used 5 times in 11 yrs), or my office at work.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

The formal dinning area. That will be a nice place to keep it. Maybe put a table cloth over it or purchase a sterling silver blade cover (just to dress it up). We will be expecting pictures.caliking said:

You could also store it in the master bedroom given that you won’t be sleeping there anytime soon.caliking said:

As a testament to our 17+yrs of marriage, this thing was out on the counter for 14hrs, before caliqueen asked " so is that going to live on the counter, or do you have a spot for it?"
She also thought it was a loaner. I had to gently break the news that it was now a part of the family. I think she made a mental note to bury me with it.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
There is a step before burial that you may have overlooked, where an industrial slicer could come in handy.caliking said:
