Neighborhood COVID bubble, NYE dinner

Glad 2020 is gone and celebrating seeing it in the rear view mirror as we hopefully move through disease and turmoil. The neighborhood folks that tested negative met in our home for a dinner I will never forget. I did prime rib which I left open in the fridge for a couple days to assist in building a nice crust when combined with the rub I made from mixing several together. Awesome result. Pulled it at 135°F and let sit for 30 minutes tented with foil.
served whole mash potatoes with cheddar, sour cream and butter all mixed together, fresh baked rolls, and ratatouille with parsnips. The wine was a silky fruit forward French Bordeaux, which was a decent buy.
 
The evening was a wonderful respite from what has become a year of struggle personally for us all.

    Lot of protesting today at his home. Those dedicated to Trump airing their grievances regarding their opinions on the stolen election, deep state conspiracies, hoax virus, etc., Suzy took this picture walking the dog this morning:

    He is very seldom in Kentucky, just enough time to maintain his position as Senator. Where we live is the “Mt Everest” in Louisville for progressives liberals. Neighbors all around his residence have anti McConnell signs posted on their property. Thinking between now and Jan 20 will be very interesting around here.

    We are and have been trying to get ready for retirement and the traveling to find the place we want to be, and getting work done with the house to sell, and the projects at work, along with mentoring people to replace me has just killed our free time. I have missed all my friends here, and I do hope to participate more this year than 2020.

    Thank you for the kind words. Like many of us on here, we are missing friends and loved ones at our table this year, due to the virus. I find a sense of peace in my minimal offering to others, while hoping it helps them in some manner. Community is key within our neighborhood.

    As a medical professional and bomb thrower, you should be ashamed of yourself. I personally don’t care but I’m not a hypocritical bomb thrower like Ron. The test is clearly not fool proof just ask Elon Musk. Whether or not I was drinking is irrelevant to me being spot on. You have disgraced your standing as a medical professional by not telling the truth which is what Ron did was wrong and selfish according to his own words and standards. Hell, the WH was getting tested not once, but continually and while it is an indicator and better than nothing, it’s far from foolproof. 

    If you are gonna throw bombs at others for their behavior, I expect nothing short of full compliance from you. 🤨
