I have seen this recipe from the Underwoods floating around on the forum for years. This is my second time making it and I am amazed that it is total perfection. I made a few modifications, cut back cayenne, added black beans. So good my friends and family are always requesting it. I plan to cook an extra brisket in the future just to have one in the freezer to make chili on demand. You need to give this a try. Recipe can be found on the forum or the Underwoods website Itsmyrub.com.

I'm so glad you are enjoying our chili recipe, @Money_Hillbilly. Looking at your pictures, you did a FINE job of making it! Like you, we usually make up plenty to freeze for a later date when we are making it. Last time we did a quadruple batch!! We sure don't regret it now that it's getting coolerKelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Everything they make is amazing!! Wonderful people, and that RUB!! Oh it's so good. Power blend on a rack of beef ribs may be the best bbq I ever made.
You can make that same chili recipe and not use brisket, it tastes great with good ole ground beef too!XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum -
I had a brisket fail but the chili I made afterwards was stunning. Thanks for the recipe!

Bump.
Made this today. I used leftover Prime Rib Roast from Xmas.
Didn't have any of the "my rubs" but just used a combo of Dizzy Pig products.
(No disrespect to the Underwoods)
This was amazing chili! Perfect for the 2+ inches of snow that fell today in Austin.
The heat was maybe a smidge too much but better to be over than under, IMHO.
I know what I'll be having tomorrow nignt for Alabama/Ohio State!
