Greetings friends,
Just when I was trying to catch up on some credit card debt, I noticed CGS has the joetisserie on sale for around $185. Haven’t paid much attention before.. is that a good price?
thanks. Happy new year, everyone!

I've seen people use basic rotisserie kits with their BGEs. Obviously quite a bit cheaper."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I think that is about what I paid at the Costco road show a month ago, which I thought was a great price.MaskedMarvel said:I noticed CGS has the joetisserie on sale for around $185. Haven’t paid much

I coulda swore there was a BGE-specific rotisserie, that was wedge-shaped so the lid could seal, but I can't find it anywhere.

i would say yes, and after breaking my KJ rotisserie and having it replaced without hassle. Its a great price. Great support, and I love the product. I have built many rotisseries, this is the easiest to use. Need some high heat gloves for sure. If you get the basket here is a tip or two. the tight mesh cross patterns keep food from falling out. The larger baskets don't do shrimp well. fyi. And cooking spray like pam works well to make clean up easier. The round basket below holds 5lbs of wings with ease. However, you will end up with two baskets so one can be in use while the other is ready to load. Im a rotisserie nut job I guess. but 5 slabs at a time while camping is always fun to watch.

It had dropped down to $172 recently on Amazon for a short time. It's usually much higher on there.Aledo, Texas

There’s gotta be some trick to tying chickens to this. They’re moving around a lot as it turns..
but! It’s on it’s way!!

When I was spinning a bunch on my Weber Kettle I bought a second set of forks. Each bird was then attached at both ends.MaskedMarvel said:There’s gotta be some trick to tying chickens to this. They’re moving around a lot as it turns..

In a pinch perhaps bamboo skewers sharpened at both ends can be used to connect the birds?MaskedMarvel said:

so does anyone know if KJ is going to release an updated version???XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.

They might, but the main goal is to spin. Not sure if a future update would be good or bad. They might make it from cheaper material or somehow make it proprietary to only work with KJ.speed51133 said:so does anyone know if KJ is going to release an updated version???

Does any grill manufacturer offer a variable speed motor? I know I've never seen one but wouldn't be surprised if they exist.DFW said:Variable speed would be nice.
What would be a usable/useful rpm range? I can imagine what would happen if your chicken - which isn't likely to be perfectly balanced to begin with - were sped up from the normal 5 or 6 rpm to something like 30rpm.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. I am just thinking why did KJ slash pricing? Either a phase out or a new model is my guess.
The motor is weak, that could use beefing up.XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.
