I was thinking the faster speed would be nice for veggies in the basket.  It’s hatch chile roasting time and those things are rolling!  That’s what spurred the thought for me.

Does any grill manufacturer offer a variable speed motor? I know I've never seen one but wouldn't be surprised if they exist.

What would be a usable/useful rpm range? I can imagine what would happen if your chicken - which isn't likely to be perfectly balanced to begin with - were sped up from the normal 5 or 6 rpm to something like 30rpm.
Lynx rotisserie motor has three speeds - HML, super spendy though

I know a place here that sells Lynx and Sedona.

No wonder I haven't seen a grill with a variable speed rotisserie - my stack of $100's isn't tall enough for a Lynx.

I am just thinking why did KJ slash pricing? Either a phase out or a new model is my guess.

The motor is weak, that could use beefing up.
    Surplus in a slow market?

  • I have one for the XL.  I have more larges, and with the price drop, I decided to pick one up for the classic/large.  I cant imagine a new one could be made for the KJ that doesn't work on an egg tho. It fits on my my KJ just like it does on the egg.
