Framing is all done. Cement boarding is next.

That’s going to be great! Nice work.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Murderous sentiment. Seems par for the rubber duck course. Urine soaked, of course.______________________________________________I love lamp..

More progress. Bought the stacked stone also need to finish the cement board then build firms for the concrete counter I decided not to cast in place going to be tricky installing it with the large egg cutout... Hope it doesn't crackXL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.

You may have this in mind but I would definitely reinforce the concrete around the thin spots of the Egg...
-
i did a concrete top a few years ago it came out great but i put framed the cutout with 1/2 rebar and mine has a middle section i did wire mesh in. just frame it in the rebar and it should be strong enough to hold.

How do you attach cement board to steel frame?
-
I have 9 gauge enameled mesh made for pallet racking. The grid is about 2in squares. I will use this throughout it. I'd like to use 3/8 in rebar, but everything I read states this pour is too thin to prevent the rebar from cracking the surface or bleeding rust to the surface. It should be over 2 in for that.
The cement board is screwed on with cement board screws (self drilling).XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr. -

I used stucco on the outside of mine. Attached chicken wire to it and plastered the stucco on top of that. Looked good for a while but the chicken wire rusted behind the stucco and now my stucco is a rusty mess in two places. I think I’m going to tear it down and go back with a brick veneer. Where did you get that sample of stone? Something like that would work too.

Floor and decor has it. Almost any tile store should as well. Home Depot does under the MSI brand as special order.XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.

Where did you install the sacrificial zinc electrodes?
______________________________________________I love lamp.. -
The steel I used was enamel coated to mitigate oxidation. The countertop will not use any steel but carbon fiber grid mesh. I considered fiberglass rebar but at 1.5in thick it does not have enough room to prevent cracks introduced by the rebar. I will be ok, this is not going in the water. BTW, your home foundation doesn't even use zinc electrodes. Things like structures in salt water use it.
Nevertheless, I am sure this was just a troll comment....XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr. -

Great looking build. Love the location. Something to consider before you get too far along is drainage. Look for places where water might collect and ways to dissipate it.
