National Taco Day

Today, October 4th, is National Taco Day.  Anyone planning on celebrating?  I'm debating on whether or not I should change my dinner plans.
It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".
Egging in the Atlanta GA region
Large BGE, CGS setup, Kick Ash Basket, Smokeware SS Cap,
Arteflame grill grate

  • I was unaware but I just had tacos for lunch. I must have sensed a disturbance in the force.

I was just trying to decide on what to eat this evening. Leftover pork chops are in the fridge, but that doesn't sound too appetizing. Hmm, I do have refried beans, a fresh package of ground beef and the usual taco fixins. Now, do I buy some tortillas or make my own? Thanks for the suggestion! Been a while since I had tacos.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I have a handful of "National" days that I keep track of.  This is not one of them.  I will have to pass on this.  Wimpin' out.  I don't have the force sensors like @The Cen-Tex SmokerB)

It's also National Vodka Day and National Cinnamonbun Day.
Too busy dunking to have to the time (or balance) to make tacos. 'hiccup'.

I had no idea about today's holiday until I got a mass advertisement email stating such.  Totally had plans to make something else entirely.

Geez! I had already planned tonight's tacos 8 days ago and I had NO idea this was that taco night. Mine were terrific as usual!

I never pay attn to these things but I will say that anytime national taco day and/or national vodka day pop up, I have a pretty good shot at being an unwitting participant.

  • Didn't cook these myself, but had very good "Mexican Street Tacos"...four different types. Did I say they were very good?

  • It may also be worth noting the words TACO CAT spelled backward are, TACO CAT. You're welcome!

I didn't realize it was national taco day but I did have tacos for dinner. If you're ever in Seal Beach in SoCal try El Burrito Jr good food, good service, reasonable prices, millions dollar view of the Pacific. If you want more upscale try Avila'a El Ranchito's.

@smokingal Way to celebrate the holiday.  An impressive cook and documentation, as always.

I have some leftover tri tip I am going to use for tacos today while watching CFB.
I also have some country ham I will work into the rotation.
