Houston BBQ ASAP!

So I'm in need of some urgent help. I'm in Houston and after a couple bourbons, my colleagues want to find the "best BBQ in Houston."
I have an overwhelming feeling that this venture is a complete crapshoot, but I'm relying on the most knowledgable source I can think of. With that said, let me have it!
Thanks for the help.

Let's see-posted at 6:50 PM Houston time. Nothing like advance planning. But with enough bourbons the evening can be salvaged. Good luck but I would rely on the brown water to save the evening.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Ya. I hear that. I prefer to stay away from BBQ restaurants as a general rule. But the boys want what they want. I'll see if I can make it happen.lousubcap said:Let's see-posted at 6:50 PM Houston time. Nothing like advance planning. But with enough bourbons the evening can be salvaged. I finally made it to Blood Bros and it pretty darn good. I've eaten at The Truth in Brenham, but have not made it to their Houston location yet.The Cen-Tex Smoker said:Blood Brothers or Truth
If it were me though, I'd head to 9889 Bellaire (Chinatown) . It's a treat. All kinds of stuff there... Malaysian, Chinese, Korean, etc.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
I am just assuming that by now he’s well into the dinner."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

They should still leave immediately and do what Caliking says. His suggestions are better than any bbq place anywhere.JohnInCarolina said:I am just assuming that by now he’s well into the dinner.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
@20stone is the one with the real intel re: Houston BBQ. May not help the OP, but someone may find his musings helpful at a later date, if he checks in.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

But now I’m miffed, because I’ve been wanting to try them for a while and thought they were done!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
I have yet to try them but my brother Mark and his wife said it was excellent.caliking said:

This is sound advice. If the OP is still awake and in Houston, head to Chinatown, STAT!The Cen-Tex Smoker said:

I would say that the best BBQ places in Houston in no particular order are:
Blood Brother
Pinkerton's
Truth
Roegel's
Corksrew (North Houston)
