Butt Blast 2019

NC Butt Blast 2019

We would like to invite you to North Carolina Butt Blast 2019 that will be held at Dan Nicholas Park, in Salisbury, NC on Saturday, April 13th from 10am-3pm.  This is a FREE event, we just ask you come hungry. Please be sure to register for the event at this location.  Hold on to your “ticket” this year as it will be used in the drawing that happens at the end of the event when we raffle off all kinds of goodies.

This year Butt Blast is being brought to you by the core group of Eggheads in the Southeast.  You know the crew, it is the cast of usual suspects: @bgebrent, @DoubleEgger, @Jeremiah, @JohnInCarolina, @JRWhitee, @JupiterJim, @northGAcock, @piney, @tarheelmatt, @theyolksonyou, and of course @YukonRon.  There is a name for this group but you will have to come to the Blast to find out what it is.

Every year there are Eggheads who attend this and ask how they can help or contribute.  First of all, you can register as a cook! There will be opportunities to cook on Friday night, Saturday during the day, and Saturday night at the after-party.  There are still cook tickets left so feel free to choose one of those if you’d like to cook at the Blast. Secondly, as in previous years we will have a donation jar out during the day on Saturday, and the entire collection will be donated to a local food bank.  In previous years we have raised several hundred dollars for charity as part of this event, and we hope that you’ll help us do that again.

Please take a look at the website for the Park (hyperlink above and will post near the end too).  They have a campground that will house campers and RVs as well. There are cabins too, but we’re pretty sure those are all sold out at this point.

This location includes a shelter that will house 150 people with nearby restrooms. We have reserved "Shelter No.2".  See map attached for location.

A few key notes for this site:

  • The shelter does not have running water

  • The shelter does not have power.

  • Officially no alcohol, however, our experience is if it's controlled and out of sight, all will be okay. Bring your Yeti Rambler! (We have had no issues in previous years)

  • Gates open from 8am- 7:30pm

  • Technically speaking, generators aren’t permitted due to a noise ordinance in the park.  We have managed to get around this too using ones that aren’t that loud.

I have attached two files.

  1. Dan_Nicholas_Park_Map - Shows the map of the entire facilities and I have noted where "Shelter No. 2" is.  Should be very easy to find when coming in through the main entrance.

  2. CampgroundInfo2 - Campground information for those that may want to bring their campers or RV.

This site is located in a great location (near Salisbury, Concord, Lexington, Charlotte) where you can stay in a hotel if need be.  Below is a link that will take you to hotels that are nearby in Salisbury.,-80.7183206,10z/data=!4m8!2m7!3m6!1sHotels!2s6800+Bringle+Ferry+Rd,+Salisbury,+NC+28146!3s0x88538ebcae3101c1:0x14714b1692a41709!4m2!1d-80.3542389!2d35.6321145
