So today I braved Costco to get king crab legs, which are a tradition for New Years Eve dinner at my home. I waited patiently at the kiosk for my turn and chatting with the gentleman ahead of me who bought 8 legs for a total of $125. I wanted 6lbs @ $23 bucks a lb. I knew what I was getting into. When I got to the register the legs were rung up for $49 as whole cooked dungeness crabs @ $8.99 lbs. Was I wrong for not saying anything?

If you have to ask...
-
Absolutely not.
You purchased a product, as labeled, and didn’t scheme, manipulate or swindle.

I was at Costco a few months ago and they rang up a case of 4 foot LED bulbs (16 pks of 2) (for my shop) as one pack. So I was charged 1/16th the price.
I noticed this a minute later when I was looking at the tally and told them they rung it up wrong. They were super happy and told me most people wouldn't be that honest. Heaped on praise.
I probably wouldn't have been as forthcoming if it was a corporation that actively tries ripping off its employees, like Wal-Mart.______________________________________________I love lamp.. -
If they would have rang up for more than advertised would you have said something, or just paid the higher price and walked out with your crab legs?

I would have saved $250, not like it didn't cross my mind not to say anything...but I like Costco.

Yes, I would have said there was a mistake labeling.
Chances are they would let it go and would have a clean mind and not have to ask a forum if I was in the wrong.

I agree. If someone drops a $100 bill on the ground, you tell the person. Doing the right thing applies all the time from a person, Costco or Wal-Mart.Big Lake, Minnesota

I usually say something...both ways. I keep wondering if the poor minimum wage employee is going to have it deducted from his wages or lose his job entirely. On the other hand , I will tell them to go check the price on the shelf in a heartbeat id I'm being overcharged.

You could always go back and offer to pay the difference. It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".

You have been bad and you must pay the price. You must travel to the land they call Dungeness (Kent, England) and remain there.
