Chips & Salsa. What Brand Do You Like?

My office is having its annual Christmas Breakfast this Friday. My assignment is chips & salsa. Yeah, it’s pretty lame and the boss doesn’t like me. But then I thought it could be interesting to hear from you folks. I don’t recall a thread on this pedestrian combo.
Forget the homemade unless you’re sharing a recipe. What’s your “go to”?

Donkey brand chips are our favorite, but they are a hearty chip so maybe not everybody's cup of tea. They're also great for dipping because they don't break so easily. Also, not sure where they are and are not available.Stillwater, MN

The best things in life are not things.

Costco tortilla chips, pretty hard to beat. Salsa-homemade, nothing crazy but always better, might make mild/hot. Me, I'd bring fresh guac and tell him the store was out of tomatoes.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

If you havent tried the Mateo’s salsa from Costco you are missing out. Best flavored store brand I have found.Greensboro, NC

I highly recommend Riley’s Salsa Mix. It comes in a variety of flavors. Just add canned tomatoes and mix or blend. I get lots of compliments. Rileyspice.com.

Although I prefer the hot, the medium gets consistently great reviews of store-bought salsas. Pair it with a thin, white tortilla chip and you will be the star of the show!

Chuy’s is a Tex Mex place based out of Austin. They’re branching outside of Texas, but prob not in your area. That being said, I’d make your own salsa and get some thin chips if you can find them. I prefer a thin salsa.
I’ll also research some knockoffs for Chuy’s creamy jalapeño. You can’t go wrong w that as a second dish. That may earn you a promotion!=======================================

My go-to in the winter months is "New York City!?!?!" Pace, mild; I pour maybe 1/4 of the jar into my blender, drop in a chipotle pepper, and Liquify until smooth. Pour in the rest of the jar, and hit lo-speed "Stir" until they're mixed up (I like some chunk to my salsa) and then pour back into the Pace jar with a dedicated funnel with which I've sliced the narrow stem off, the opening is just a bit smaller than the top of the jar.
Chips seem to change via locale; I prefer the "Bite-sized" Tostitos as I have a very narrow mouth (shaddap!) and I like their taste.“I'll have what she's having."

I will concur that the cream sauce is pretty killer. I even mailed the boss a couple quarts of the stuff for Christmas.thetrim said:Chuy’s is a Tex Mex place based out of Austin. On the Border chips are dynamite. Their salsa is inedible, I think. Homemade pico is tough to beat

We change around a lot, but our current favorites are Mateo's Salsa from Costco and Julio's Seasoned Tortilla Chips. Their flavors go together perfectly!KelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Aldi's has a good chip made in Chicago. Can't remember the brand but comes in a bag similar to Mission brand chips. Frog salsa makes a good one for store bought.Large and Small BGECentral, IL
