Seen this thread all day never opened it....

Tonight wife goes outside and swears something is on fire, she asks if it's our egg as I set it up for a brisket tomorrow.  No not lit yet.

Maybe the fireworks people are already lighting up...

Come into the bedroom and the smell is strong, now we walk the house get on side of bedroom and its real strong.  Look over my neighbors fence and it looks like a barrel or side smoker going over there.  Now that I know there is no fire no big deal other than whatever fuel he is using smells like fire, not meat cooking.

Her name is Katherine. She had a 90 year old mother. She said she had a 90 year old mother. I said I was 43. I didn’t understand why Katherine had a problem with me.
  • Has anyone heard of a filter that can be put over the top vent of the BGE to decrease release of the bilious white smoke that occurs during the 1st 30-45 minutes that the egg is firing up?  I am always concerned what the neighbors might think or do if they looked in the yard.  Once the smoke turns clear (or blue), I am less concerned from an aesthetic point of view.

Do your neighbors own the air around you? Who cares what they think. I’m sure they do things that are annoying as well. It’s not like you are blowing an air horn non stop their direction. Egg on.

  • the neighbors on both sides of me use their backyards to smoke, so I frequently am in the middle of their cigarette smoke path.  We dont complain to each other.  I like the smell of my smoke and food, and they obviously like the smell of their smoke as well.

I'm guessing they don't like the smell of their smoke or they'd do it inside their house where they can wallow in it.

Based on this thread I'm sure glad I can't hear or see my neighbors. Between the two fire pits and all the grills There would be issues. I do not do well with people telling me how to behave on my land.

I have the same issue with one of my neighbors. But the stuff they are smoking is not one of the legal types. I just let it go. It is not my job to police them.

I’m so glad this resurfaced. I want to complain about my neighbors again.

2 houses near me are older and everyone in their households smoke cigarettes. One of their sons (late 20s) told me “you cooking on charcoal that much can cause cancer.”

I told him “you sucking on that e cig all day will give you cervical cancer.”

Still waiting on him to get it.
I just about peed  in my pants when I read this!!
    Nicely done sir!
