Anyone grill salad?

Do you toss it afterwards or just use some other technique like mouth mixing?

I've never done it, but I've seen lots of pictures of grilled romaine, escarole, maybe some other salad-ey things, and they look like they might be good to me.  I don't see any reason why grilling tomatoes, zucchini, onions, etc., are good but grilling lettuce wouldn't be good, too.  I just hardly ever grill vegetables, and I keep wanting to try that more.

What I've seen the most for grilled salad has been grilled halved romaine that they sprinkled or sprayed with olive oil first, and then blue cheese or other dressing is poured over it, and people eat it on the plate that way, cutting it up as they go.  Sounds like fun to me.

Why waste your time and money on rabbit food when you can eat the rabbit.

I tried grilling romain lettuce once, did not like it at all so now just stick to grilled steak, chicken etc on top.

I have done it. I use Romaine Lettuce. I like Balsamic Vinegar  and olive oil. grill at 350 or so for about 20 or 30 seconds direct. It is not life changing at all just different.

You can grill dinosaur kale and it will crisp up.  Put on a vinaigrette type dressing on it and eat everything but the stalk part.

I make it all the time, with romaine, cherry tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and zucchini. A little bit of olive oil, steak spice and just a bit of bbq sauce and its a great meal.

Not green salad, but I make a salad of grilled corn + grilled red onion + raw red pepper + raw mango (or other stone fruit) + lime juice + light salt.  Easy to modify with other grilled/raw veggies.  Served cold, great side (especially for spicy main dish).  Always well received.
