Ron, this started off going to be a fine evening shave, but it quickly transformed into a shrimp boil.
Sone lemons and garlic:

5 pounds of sausage:

2 pounds of sausage:

Some spices and flavoring:

Sausage and shroons:

15 pounds of shrimp:

Bring it up to a boil:

Letting them soak for 45 minutes before serving:

A shot in the pot:

A few plated shots:

Ron, I apologize for no shaving shots. Hope that the shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, mushrooms and jalapeños suffice instead.
Thanks to everyone for taking a peek. Hope y’all enjoy it. And have a safe and happy upcoming 4th my friends.

Thank you for the very kind words. Believe me when I say that I’m thankful to be back on dry land, 7 months is just much. And I agree, the spicy Conecuh is awesome.

It was only 15 pounds of shrimp, the new boiler is simply overkill for such a small amount. Never fear though, I have a very large boil coming up for the 4th, the big unit will be out in full force.

I will be honest here, if you do a lot of large volume boiling, the big unit is simply outstanding. However for small amounts, it’s simply overkill and a waste of gas.
Now don’t misunderstand, the big rig is great for real large cooks, it is the go to choice for large volumes. However for small everyday cooks, a traditional pot just makes more sense. Handling, set up and cleaning is much easier. Also you conserve a lot of propane with a smaller pot. I have several different size pots plus the big rig. I try to match the pot/rig to the task at hand.
With all that said, if you do large boils, I highly recommend one of the large commercial rigs. They are simply miles ahead of a pot for large boils.

Excuse my stupidity, but your pictures didn't come thru to me for some reason, but with all the ingredients in that surely you were serving a whole bunch of people weren't you? And then you now say you are cooking a much bigger one for the 4th!!! That just blows my mind!

Ron, I kept 10 pounds of the shrimp for me, my wife, my daughter and my 2 granddaughters. I have a neighbor that is very sick (sadly he is dying) and I boxed up 5 pounds and carried over to him and his wife. I’m pretty good about helping someone in need out. It’s my Masonic duty and just doing the right thing in my opinion.
For the 4th, I’m doing 20 pounds of shrimp, 50 blue crabs and several clusters of snow crab.

Never a doubt about doing the right thing with you @SGH.  Your neighbor is fortunate to know you.
