I haven't made it up there yet (its in northwest arkansas) but supposedly Wright's BBq is awesome if anybody is passing through the great state or Arkansas.

I haven't been to Wrights, but I always stop by Nick's on my way to Dallas if I have to drive. It's not world class or anything but it's consistently good.

Wright's is pretty new. I think they started off as a food truck. I intend to try it out. I've had several friends (who know good bbq) that rave about it, especially the brisket.

If I want some good Texas Q, Austin is 1800 miles from here. But hey, Charleston (and John Lewis) is "only" 900! Long way to go for brisket, but you never know.

As for Rodney Scott, the original store in Hemingway is much more authentic than his new place in Chharleston! What a Q-joint should look like! But it's not even a restaurant, take out only. Saw something that said his dad is still doing it. It's been his place from the beginning anyway. I guess Rodney moved on to the big city.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Also, the East Bay Deli is a good take for lunch. They have an offset and a BGE outside and cook on both of them. If you make it that far, B's just up the road in Greenville is supposed to be good too. Go to B's first because when they run out they close. Apparently a frequent occurrence. You have to try his brisket if you get a chance. I've only been once and it was excellent. Plan on being there before 11:15 or you'll be waiting quite a bit.Little Rock, AR

EDIT: So I checked the list and yep, Big Bob's is rated #1. I work just down the road from that nasty shiit hole. How the owner can win competitions yet serve lousy bland and dry BBQ with run of the mill canned beans and slaw and take the top spot year after year is a mystery. Their customers are a bunch of blue hairs that still think it's 1960 and Bob ain't dead. Well, he's dead. Food sucks now. Has for a long, long time. -
Anyones yard with a BGE gets my vote....
