Shoutout to @YukonRon
These arrived today from @YukonRon
I’ll leave it to @YukonRon to tell the full lore of these but will succinctly say they involve the Kentucky Derby and Mint Juleps. What is most impressive though is that Ron remembered our conversation through an intoxicated haze late Saturday night / Sunday morning of BBIII. Props to you good sir for remembering to send these and for being a man of his word. Thanks

If memory serves me correctly (it doesn’t) it is the core of a Louisville Slugger used as a Mint Julep muddler.TEXASBGE2018 said:I'm gonna show my ignorance here but what are those exactly? -

makes sense now. I figured it was something like that but then perspective is everything. Based on the pictures these could have been the size of Chess pieces and I woulda been way off base saying that.Rockwall, Tx LBGE, Minimax, 22" Blackstone, Pizza Party Bollore. Cast Iron Hoarder.

Actually they are the nubs from the billet used to turn the Louisville Slugger wood bat. Each billet is 37" long and depending on the length of bat produced you will have various excess length end pieces (one from each end) which are cut off after the bat is turned and end up as souvenirs. FWIW-

Thanks, the whole story was a blur at the time but they looked interesting and Mint Juleps .... must acquire one of these.lousubcap said:Actually they are the nubs from the billet used to turn the Louisville Slugger wood bat. Wine, Ron. I said send send wine.
Just kidding. Many thanks brother. I’ve already though up a couple uses for these... Slumming it in Aiken, SC. -
These are from Louisville Slugger. These are from the bats they are making for the all star games.
I have a few more of these, and if you all want them let me know.
Your muddler might be from a bat that hits a home run during the games. Who knows?
Some folks use the for crushing herbs and spices, and just about a million adult beverages that need muddled fruits and herbs.
I hope you like them, and hope your friends will too.
I thought they were kind of cool, and my family at the BGE, were the first folks I thought of, that might enjoy them.
Robin is correct, I am having a bit of a hard time these days remembering things. It has gotten to the point where I am getting medical tests and therapy, I have just begun the process, and they are basically trying to eliminate the low hanging fruit. I am scheduled for a catscan after my 60th. Dementia sucks, no doubt about it. Too many shots to the melon will do that to you.northGAcock said:

Don't worry my friend. I know you were joking, and I laughed a lot, very loud. You know me.
I will be ok. Thank you for your kindness, in case I forget to say it later.
They told me to seek help, but I forgot what for.
You guys are the best. All y'all.

Another shout out to @YukonRon from TX.

But be careful of these feisty things... I requested 3 and they multiplied to 12 by the time they got here
And since you were adamant about not accepting reimbursement for these or shipping, I’ll try and make sure that I pay it forward.
Much appreciated, brother.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
I hope you enjoy them. Next time we are down your way, let's grab a bourbon or something my brother.caliking said:Another shout out to @YukonRon from TX.
