Scallops & Morel Cream Sauce

Simple cook.  Inspired by the recent discovery of a source for local morels.  Love morels.  Seared the scallops on the MM.  Morel cream (used half-half) sauce and fresh linguine.  Life is good.  Cheers.

Why is it that scallops are one of those foods that when you look at them, they look amazing but I just cant seem to acquire a taste for them. Nice job by the way.

It’s second hand.  A patient knows a local forager who sells to restaurants and some individuals.  I don’t know who the forager is.  I’m however happy to buy at cost from my patient.  Had we been here last weekend she had 2# of fresh shrooms for me.  Since we weren’t she dried them.  Thats just alright!

I’m loving the crust you got on the scallop. How’d you do that?

Yeah, we ate going back to the area where I grew up, which adds more distance. Morels do not seem to do well in Downtown Louisville.
We are avid hikers and backpackers, so Morels are part of the fun, for us.
We found 5, two weeks ago, thinking they should be out by now.
    We will see.

We are going to climb Grays Arch while there, and pack into the Swift Camp Creek Wildernous Area. Should be pretty cool. Dogwoods will be in full bloom, as well as the start of the Azaleas.
