Business Acumen? You have no clue about my business acumen. I know that pissing off potentially 50% of the country and your customer base is a moronic pr/marketing move. Being arrogant doesn't make you a genius business man either slick. It makes you reckless. It’s certainly possible you’re right, that YETI is backtracking because of the bad PR over this move.  But that statement reads that they ended this programs with several foundations, and that the NRA isn’t unique here.  That is a strange thing to claim if they’re backtracking, because it can be independently verified.  

I really couldn’t care less, but YETI sales aren’t the only ones that are down over the past two years.  Gun sales are down too.  So... maybe consider that the NRA has a financial interest in stoking the fires here too.  Economics 101 say anything about ginning up demand?

You are right. The NRA does most likely love this kinda PR which I think is shameful a little bit. I'm a responsible gun owner and hunter myself. I'm not a member of the NRA nor will I ever join because I don't feel I need to. But I also think that the NRA in a lot of cases is the scapegoat when some moron decides to shoot up a school or whatever. I'm of the mindset that if you own a business don't get political. Don't even inject defending yourself into the politics of anything. You are a business, you are meant to do 1 thing, that's sell your product. The minute that you inject yourself into something political as a business owner you will risk pissing off 50% of the people that buy your products. So just don't do it.

Actually I don't Drink Coffee I just don't appreciate someone questioning my intelligence when they know literally nothing about me or what I do. I could be a freaking Billionaire or as poor as dirt. All I know is Big Green Egg's are great and that's why I am here. But I'm sure as heck gonna defend myself if someone wants to spout off.

I think maybe you’re missing the very big point here that the evidence that this was a political move by Yeti in the first place is very thin at best.  The NRA clearly chose to interpret it that way but that’s probably not the whole story.

Seems to me there are a few facts left on the tree that are yet to drop on this one.  Maybe we should wait for those to fall before deciding whether or not Yeti caved and how?

Like consumers, businesses can choose to not promote other businesses (or organizations like non-profits).

What that does is keep them politically neutral.  What some rocket scientist here *didn't* happen to mention, any business that promotes, through deals, by proxy, whatever, is taking a stand with that business.   By breaking those ties, it's a step on a road they should have been on the whole time.  Product neutrality.

Not promoting in any way, staying away from hot-button groups is not political, it is apolitical.

I can chose what products I buy or not buy either.  Because I don't buy Chik-fil-A doesn't mean I don't own guns. Means I don't like a company because it supports a hate group.  If they never did that, maybe I wouldn't know their stance and I'd buy and chow down on their swill, EVEN IF THEY DID NOT SUPPORT PENZKEY SPICES.  So suck on it!

I doubt I will ever view a political group as a scape goat, when, in fact, they have repeatedly, without fail, controlled and repealed legislation for advancing gun safety, and also championed legislation that keeps gun manufacturers from being sued as a result of the use and abuse of the products they make, via the NRA lobbying efforts.

I still purchased Yeti, when they did support the NRA. I just feel better about them now.

Cruz was a member of the JROTC, which is funded by the US Army.  The school he attended applied for and happily accepted a grant from the NRA to assist with the JROTC program.  So why didn't the headline read "The US Army trained shooter" or "High school trained shooter"???? It wasn't an NRA instructor or syllabus....it was the Army.

I'm a NRA instructor, range safety officer, and a CCW instructor for the states of MO and IL.  In order to get a permit in either state your have to be trained by a state approved and NRA certified instructor (meaning you went through a lot of training, background checks, spent a chunk of money doing it).  I know you dont like ccw, but wouldn't you rather have qualified people like myself teaching it?
