My wife and I did the Global Traveler which includes TSA Precheck. $100 for 5 years.

EDIT: Global Entry is the name I meant to use. Makes clearing customs much quicker when coming back into the States.

Yep, great idea.  I really should look into it given how frequently I travel overseas.

Dunno if you would clear the background check John, you are a pretty shady character after all. Plus we all know how those Liberal University's such as your fine institution pass out TS-SCI clearances like candy.

Precheck used to be great for frequent travelers. Now the lines for precheck are often more crowded than normal lines. Plus you get a lot of infrequent travelers slowing down the process.

    Rant over :)

I moved to Clear. But only available in larger airports.

Also pro tip- get global entry instead of precheck. Same price and it comes with precheck. Plus it’s awesome if you do any international travel.

There no benefit to GT when you’re returning from Syria and Iran.   Since Jan 20, 2017, TSA is allowed to screen those passengers again.

I don’t plan on visiting either anytime soon, but thanks for the pro tip!

  • Ok- so here’s the plan-

Meet at Stanley’s FarmHouse Pizza at noon tomorrow. Have a little grub, some fun beers hang out a couple of hours.

I will find a table under the roof (by the line where you order pies). I’ll put a smokeware cap on the table for those who haven’t met everyone yet so you’ll know it’s us. I’ll post a pic of where we end up on here too so you can navigate.

If you like interesting beers, plan on doing the Jester King tour and/or visit thier taproom. It’s on the same site as Stanley’s. Stanley’s has tons of good beers on tap too and good wines too.

For those wanting to “Level up” their day drinking we will head over to Treaty Oak Distillery around 2 or so or some cocktails and fun times. It is also 100% outdoors so bring a jacket. Should warm up nicely in the afternoon.

Both Stanley’s and Treaty Oak are very kid and dog friendly and there will be plenty of both at both places. Great places to spend a Sunday afternoon. This is our “go to” little day drinking run so it’s been well-tested.

    See you guys tomorrow

Better to be lucky than good any day!  I'm sure you have @nolaegghead's lawyer on speed-dial.  Have a great time.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

You probably need a Texas lawyer, but here's the contact info:

  • Ok. We have 13 confirmed for tomorrow not including dogs or kids. JIC had landed and we will make contact at some watering hole shortly. Assuming hangovers and/or 2nd thoughts wipe out a few, we should still have a good crowd.

Weather looks perfect for the venues we chose. If you like drinking out-of-doors in perfect weather, tomorrow is your day.

  • Change of plan for the identifier for tomorrow. I was going to put a smokeware cap on the table but I am changing that to my grandfather’s legit 1950’s Schlitz straw hat. He passed it down to me in ‘79

“if you see this hat, that’s where we at”
