Hi everybody!  I am a new egg guy and really excited to be here!  My wife got me a brand new large BGE just before XMAS and its been fun so far.  Not too many cooks cuz its been cold as all get out.  Just a "boston shoulder" so far or whatever there called.  It was good maybe a lil smokie.  Can't wait to get to know everyone here!  Jus call me Kevin!

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey.  Above all, have fun.
Off to a great start.  congrats on the cook.
Props to SWMBO for the BGE.  All I can say is that the pay-back will be pricy but worth it.
The search function here is a great initial information resource as is google and add egghead forum to your query.
It is Friday night around here so I would suggest you just peruse a few threads to get a flavor for how this forum can take on a whole new persona under the cloud of adult supervisory beverages and friendly banter.  FWIW-

You betcha! I put the meat on the Egg and smoked it! I think the thermo started at 200 or so but it was over 300 at the end. I finished a case of bud lite as it was cooking so don take my word for it.

@FlyOverCountry - I may not be known for much but a consistent theme throughout my life, "Life is too short for light/lite beer."
However, I applaud your appreciation for SWMBO escape time and adult supervisory beverages.  No worries.

I cant drink a whole case of regular beer. It fills me up too much. What is a SWMBO?

I first heard the term from a British TV program "Rumpole of The Bailey" starring Leo McKern. Program ran from 1978-1992. He raised one eyebrow when he used the term in conversation with peers if memory serves.

    Nice cook and welcome Kevin.
