If you attended the Salado EggFest you may remember the great people who opened the Barrow Brewing Co on Royal St in Salado.
At first they just showed up and cooked great food like everyone. Then opened the Barrow Brewing Co.
They have very good brew made on site. Now this weekend at HEB I found Barrow's beer for sale (middle row).

Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

That's some good beer.  I'll have to look for it in my HEB here in San Antonio.  It is best consumed in a glass from the Salado Glass Works like the one I am holding in the picture.

Thanks Mickey for letting me know.

I turned the Salado EggFest over to Ace to run two years ago. Was told yesterday they will not have one anymore. All I can say is for the first 5 years we had one of the best in the USA!

That sux.  It's the only one I've been to (so far) but I definitely enjoyed it very much every time and I appreciate all the work you did to make it possible.

I suspect we'll make it to Salado for some other reason because our best friends (and we agree) find sitting out by the creek there "good for the soul".  A weekend of beer/wine drinking and glass making is time well spent.

That's sad to hear, Mickey.  Yours was the very first Eggfest I attended, and it will always remain the gold standard to me.

I quit going when @Mickey gave up control. Only eggfest I attended. I going to pay to cook to showcase the egg? Hardly.

This saddens me greatly. Caliprince has kinda grown up with the Salado fest, attending the first one when he was 2 months old. Where he found many "rental grandmas " more than ready to cuddle him for a bit while I cooked. Caliqueen has always said that the Salado fest feels like family getting together to have a fun time. Most of the eggheads I consider friends now , I met in Salado.

Except that guy @henapple. He kept locking his  damn cooler. That's un'Murican.

On the bright side...There is NOTHING stopping us from renting out the Inn on the Creek and taking this back to the Mini Fest it was first intended to be. No open to the public, just Eggheads getting together and drinking with a couple Eggs fired up to make it legit.
    Thank you,

That's true.  Although without the need to cook for the public until mid-afternoon we might have the creekside littered with faceplanted eggheads before sunset on Saturday.

Salado Eggfest is not for wimps. Lol
Would be a blast just cooking smaller batches of better food for our group.

I think that's called an "eggplant".  I'll have to add that to the list.

Got this from Graydon & KT:
This is great to see! Thank you for sharing the pic with the other egg heads. We are distributing from Waco to San Antonio (not in all the HEBs, but working on it!) We are really going to miss the Salado EggFest
