The photo of the aircraft/eclipse - somebody made the effort to figure out which flight that would have been and it was determined to be American Airlines #9661.

That person was able to get in touch with the flight crew to verify and they in turn made contact with the photographer as they wanted to buy prints and they also offered to return some autographed copies back to the photographer.

Here's another nice shot from Oregon with less "manipulation".

Columbia SC.....baseball tailgate site. Had a good number of people join us...including @JRWhitee and his family.

Many are showing there pictures of the eclisp...I will not post ours....as really it is just more of the same. We did have a great tailgate and watch party.

The street lights came on as the insect started their chirping.

We started out with the usual Bloody Mary's after our initial set up. Really did not imbibe much after that as it was quit literally too hot. Many bottle waters were consumed. Stereo was playing appropriate play list.

A wide angle of the set up........my buddies white tent was a bit sick.

The day prior, went out and cut the grass (Twice) to get a nice fresh cut space.

The bad moon arising left my buddy Luke's tent ....well it came to a bad end.

Overall.....found the Eclipse exceeded my expectations. A great time was had by all.

Looks like a great time!  I like the chuck box and the Pink Floyd flag is killer!

Appreciate it Fred. I had it made for the event. We usually fly a Dylan, Grateful Dead or Allman Brothers flag at our tailgate and play good music.  Just adding to the collection with this flag. The Chuck-box is our Tailgate kitchen. I got tired of trying to find stuff all the time in a big grey bin. Keeps stuff organized and allows for some on premise prep work. Also doubles as the Bloody Mary Bar after those am setups.

I have enjoyed this thread and seeing what everyone was doing. We had great visibility in Columbia....a great day was had by all.

  • My Dad made a chuck box over 40 years ago.  Not for tailgating, but for camping.  He called the camper kitchen.  I can see it pulling double duty for egging away from home as well as a nice outdoor bar.  Sweet setup you have there.

I have never seen a brown paper Costco grocery bag before.  They always put our stuff in boxes that their produce was shipped in.  It looks Yuge, like a leaf collection bag!
