@Eggcelsior, sharp eye! Yeah, I've converted completely to using grams and millilitres, so much easier. Never understood this scale (it was an as is gift) as it provides the same "weight" wether using the g or mil "unit".. it is a scale not a measuring cup, wonder why it has mil?

@lousubcap - have no idea why this scale has an mil "Unit". Another eagle eye!

@Eggcelsior - agreed that 1ml water = 1 gram of water, and a cheap kitchen scale is close enough. But if your recipe calls for 100ml of olive or coconut oil, which weighs about 91g, might be a different result. Thanks for your thoughts, always thought the scale Unit was a bit weird.
