Stop by a local meat market, that people on a local forum were raving about their "great meats and if they don't have it they can get it."  I have passed by this place several times.  Decided to stop in, check it out and see if they happen to carry or can get brisket points only.  

The conversation:

Guy behind the counter:  Hi, how can help you?
Me:  I was wondering if you carry brisket points or are able to order them?
Guy behind the counter: You want what?
Me: a brisket point only?
Guy behind the counter: Yeah, we have brisket.
Me:  I am only looking for the point also known as the dickle.
Guy behind the counter: I don't know what that is.
Guy behind the counter: Pappy, can you help this guy?
Older guy comes over. What you looking for?
Me: I am looking for brisket point also known as the dickle.  Do yall carry them or can you get them?
Older guy:  Yeah, we got brisket.
Me: No,the point also known as the dickle. Then I explain the two pieces that make a whole packer brisket to him.
Older guy:  You want grease?
Me: No, a brisket has a point and a flat. You separate the two pieces.  I am just looking for the point which is usually fatter and the flat leaner. I am guessing you do not carry them.
Older guy:  Why would you separate a brisket?  You will ruin the brisket. What you want is a Tri-tip.
Me: No, I wasn't wanting a Tri-tip.  But thank you for trying to help me.

    I bet you were looking for the hidden camera...lol
    I have had similar conversations with so called butchers at many larger grocery stores. Few places have a true, educated, trained butcher anymore.

    Haha, just like in the Publix Seafood department, they did not know how to filet a fish! I bought the whole fish and had to filet it myself when I got it home.

    And also a rather large meat market in Tampa that didn't know what spatchcocking a chicken meant. I had to explain it to 3 people behind the counter. Funny, but even Publix knew that one.
    Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

    LOL...I think he has already found the liquid version and not the meat version.

    When my wife and I bought our house it was two blocks away from a butchers market. Sweet!!! So I stopped over hoping for the best. I asked what they had for brisket.  They show me a 3# frozen brisket in the freezer. I can't say I've been back.

    Maybe next time take a copy of this then say "I will take one NAMP/IMPS 120B, please."

    I won't place the blame on any butcher for raising an eyebrow or two when you're inquiring about a "dickle".

    Jokes aside, I've had many a miscommunication with local butchers. Partially because I'm in an area that is densely populated by French-speakers while I am an anglophone (with some relatively-advanced French) and partially because I have previously asked for cuts that I don't fully understand (and terminology can vary!).

    Wow! I didn't realize it was that old. Pretty sure I've never even seen the movie, but I've seen the clip many times.

    I tried that with Beef Ribs once.  The guy flat told me, "yeah, you seem to know a lot more about this than I do."  At least the guy was honest and willing to work with me.  I wound up with some killer heavily marbled strip instead.
