No need for a hose here, kind of takes away from the stow and go anywhere beauty of it.

Ace sells two 1 pounders for $6.99. Cheapest I've seen anywhere. I haven't had anything larger than a 1 lb cylinder in over 30 years.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Please give me/us a clue! For 40+ years I have avoided those cheap/whimpy cloth covered bungee cords and instead used those VERY sturdy, black rubber ones with the heavy metal S hooks on each end. Want to post your PSA warning? Thank you!bgebrent said:Avoid bungee cords if you enjoy vision.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -

Securing a piddly 17" griddle or Weber kettle lid for camping, those cloth ones are just fine.
If we avoided products for user error, one would have to live it up like Jimmy Livingston, aka Bubble Boy.BrandonQuad Cities

RedSkip said:I'd assume the middle holes are smaller than the edges. The gas won't escape through the middle because the pressure required is greater there than the sides. (Path of least resistance) Drill out the middle bar with a drill bit just a hair bigger than the holes themselves.
Also, put a bigger regulator on the inlet to help push more gas to through the system.
If you do that, it may throw off the air mixture so check the color of flame if you boost the gas pressure. There should be a air adjustment on venturi of burner.

Do the 1LB tanks have enough pressure to run the grill?RRP said:
LOL - I hear you, but after 25 years lugging 2 big LP tanks after getting them filled then to my back yard and up the steps I decided NO MORE GAS! Thankfully no hernia developed, but at my age I'd rather pitch 4 of these 1 pound non-refillables for no more than what I plan to use my new 17" BlackStone. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE MY BGEs! The 17" BlackStone was an $80 whatever purchase!DMW said:

the 1 pounders heat it plenty hot and quick, you would not want to run a bigger regulator/higher pressure on the 17 as the flat top on the travel model is thinner lighter than the bigger units. i abuse mine and have warped this unit, bs set me a new top so now i have two tops depending what im doing with itTspud1 said:

You may want to be careful pushing more gas through. If you add heat, it may warp your cooking surface.
My griddle warped like crazy the first time I fired it up. I was gradually warming it to season and it developed a 1/2" hump right in the middle. It still works fine for burgers but anything that requires some grease to cook doesn't work all that well as it runs immediately to the corners. I'm still awaiting the replacement as Blackstone was out of tops. Their customer service is great though.

Just 3 cooks out of one of the 1 pounder tanks? You are kidding aren't you? Or how long do you fire up your 17" for and how long do you cook?Focker said:Ah, the beauty of CS, it heats quickly.

I've only gotten about 3 cooks out of a one pound tank as well. This was during winter use so it might get a little bit better as the weather warms up.
Just got tracking from Blackstone for my replacement griddle. I'm told it is reinforced now to prevent warping.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN! -
Propane contains 92,000 BTU per gallon.RRP said:

I can get 3 cooks out of one tank.
Propane weights 4.2 pounds per gallon.
So a 1lb tank has about 23K BTU. The 17" burner is 12K BTU so one tank might be good for no more than a couple of hours of runtime.
Assume 10-15 minutes of warmup and another 15-30 minutes of cooking so 3 or 4 cooks sounds about right.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Thanks for doing the math. Perhaps I'm naive or selling the BS short, but I thought it was a merely a griddle for short fast cooks similar to a wok in that way. "15-30 minutes of cooking" time sounds way too long for my intended use such as for smash burgers and occasional breakfasts of bacon, eggs and pancakes.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Forget the Coleman bottles. The Russian center-cut propane lasts much, much longer.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

can you post a photo of the reinforced plate when you get it?

I know you didn't ask this question of me, but it appears my 17" I bought recently has the new welded "square-like" framework underneath. I took a pix, but for some reason COMCAST email isn't working tonight for our neighborhood, but phone and TV is.odie91 said:can you post a photo of the reinforced plate when you get it?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Darn wish I knew about this. I'm past my 90 at warranty. I guess I'll have to use the hammer and 2x4 trick on my plate

@RRP
post a pic of the griddle bottom, i might fix my warped one. whoever makes the little green bottles now is different from years ago, they dont hold up like they use to, some dont last long at all, im assuming slow leaking. in winter you only get about a half tank usage as they freeze if your cooking on high

@fishlessman, @rrp and anyone else who needs to know... here ya go. I contacted BS (Live Chat) and she said,
"Some of the griddle tops on the 17" have been warping, but most of them don't. If yours ever did warp, we would replace it with a re-designed one that has a more difficult time warping. I would recommend either registering your product or keeping a copy of your receipt just in case that happens."
Then I asked for a pic of the fix. I laughed when I saw it.

Then she told me that was a prototype and that the factory version looked nicer. Then she sent a pic of the "official" fix. Which, I guess does look better.
Anyway, now you can fix your warped one just like the real deal.
Save your receipt!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
