Freds Franks is usually in WAkefield a few minutes north of Boston. Great place for a quick lunch and the owner is a great guy. The only dual kamado food truck I have ever seen.

    Several old timers including @fishlessman and @stike used to have regular get togethers there, back when it was owned by the original Frank. Frank since retired and moved to CO I believe. I had supplied the original Rutland gaskets for those eggs plus Frank's one at home plus that of his sister's. Thanks for posting and enjoy your visits there! BTW is he still serving Pearl's brand of hot dogs?

    Yes, the new owner Carl is still serving Pearl hotdogs. They are very good doggies. He has some awesome sausages too. There is a dish called shrnuble that is chorizo and a pearl hot dog with some veggies and his own hot sauce. It's quite the experience.

    The tales those eggers told us about Pearl's convinced me to order them clear out here in IL. I think over a couple years I bought several dozen before they quit shipping without a horrendous overnight charge which was more than the dogs! This was the last of my Pearl's as proof!

    Interesting and unique rig, that's for sure. Have never heard of Pearl Franks, thanks for sharing.

    LOL - I see I called Fred "Frank" several times didn't I? Actually I have a legit excuse plus it has made me realize what my doctor warned me about. You see I fell down 13 steps Monday doing 2 backward somersaults landing on my head on a tile floor. I suffered a major concussion and whiplash. Luckily I broke no bones, but am I one sore and bruised dude! Oh - the doctor's warnings included facts that the concussion will cause errors in judgement and things which I would normally catch such as today repeatedly calling Fred "Frank" even when I was discussing Fred's Franks!  :|

    Man buddy, falls are no joke.  Glad you came out of that unscathed in the grand scheme of things.

    Thanks guys - I can not move my head fast as I get very dizzy and my eyes quiver. Prognosis is 3 weeks or so. Darn lucky I didn't break my neck, and luckily my wife was here as I bled like crazy and then vomited violently. Helluva a night that I don't care to repeat! Good thing I'm retired!

    I need to make a pilgrimage to Fred's soon. In the process of preparing for the trip I have to find out which cave stike is hiding in so I can con him into joining me. For any of you that have never enjoyed a Pearl hot dog, there's nothing like it . . . . ever!

    they lost me with the shrnuble =)  cant beat the 1/4 pound dogs, seems you can only find those skinney pearls off the shelves

    For those who don't know, La Bomba is an Italian hot antipasto spread not sold in the US. As far as I know, only available in Canada, specifically, the Toronto area. Well, I assume in Europe too.

    Some years ago, I found an online store specializing in foodie things for homesick Canadians. I've never ordered from them, nor do I know anyone who has. Here it is if you want to try 'em...

    Actually La Bomda was available at a wholesale Italian grocery supplier in Chicago. I split a case of it with Boilermaker Ben years ago. He used a membership card loaned him by Car Wash Mike's girl friend at the time. @AZRP would know her name.
