Mouse sander? Are people finding it necessary to smooth the griddle out ?Focker said:Dang guys, the highlight reels are pushing me to reach for the mouse sander, and get after it.
Can't wait to fire up the 28. May do aged cheesesteaks for the Super Bowl.

I didn't sand mine. Out of the box, got it hot and did four heat-oil-cool sessions and it was good to go.odie91 said:Mouse sander? Are people finding it necessary to smooth the griddle out ?

I would like to see a picture of someone making an Uncle Buck pancake using a pizza peal to flip it. Then, I will be sold on this Blackstone stuff.
-
I would think it would only take a couple minutes to break down. Griddle sets on 4 pegs couple of knobed screws for the bottom shelf and the legs fold in. I think they even make a bag for transporting. This would be great for camping

@Smokin_Trout my wife is out of town tomorrow night and my daughter and I are having "Brinner".Smokin_Trout said:I would like to see a picture of someone making an Uncle Buck pancake using a pizza peal to flip it. Then, I will be sold on this Blackstone stuff.
Monster pancake? You got it. If she is good at preschool I may even add M&Ms to it."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Not necessary, but I think it helps for things like eggs, which are more delicate.odie91 said:

It was my first rodeo with smashburgers last night. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I made a double and a single for my wife. My wife raved about them. I enjoyed them and looking forward to having more condiments the next go around.

@tz666 - mine maxes out at about 450-475. I haven't tried searing a steak. I think it would work, but it is not crazy hot. Some folks have upgraded the regulator to get it hotter.
<edit>
I should add that I am suspicious that my regulator was not great. I could have had it replaced under warranty but never got around to it.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
tz666 said:How hot will one of these get, can you sere a steak on it?
Most definitely. I have the 28", and it hits 500°F+ with the knobs set to just a bit less than medium.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
+1. I sanded mine for a few minutes with 80 grit and it was noticeably smoother. May not have been necessary, but a test egg fried on it after just 1 round of seasoning slide around like a hockey puck.Focker said:
