Hell our ovens dump out more carbon minoxide than a BS on startup.fishlessman said:
ive put my propane bs on the propane stove and used itCarolina Q said:Cool! I bought the 17" about 2 months ago. Haven't even fired it up yet!! Sure wish I could use it indoors in the winter!
not sure why you cant use it indoors
Had a scare a couple of years ago that required O2 intervention in the rig for a while. Next day after my house was cleared, energy guy showed me on the handheld meter how much carbon minoxide dumps out with the oven on startup, and my gas burner on low.
I use both the 28 and oven in my garage, and I'm still here.
These BSs are extremely wind sensitive, the garage with garage door opened, helps with that.BrandonQuad Cities

@focker -my friend's backyard is pretty open and gets quite windy. I figured we could screw on some aluminum flashing to keep the wind at bay. Did this to a gasser when I had one, and it worked well.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

It was surprisingly easy. I just said something like it would work great for weekend breakfasts for us, when friends/family are coming to visit for the weekend, etc. She: "Can't you use all the CI we have for that??"
Me: "No. It's different."
She mumbled something on her way out for work, about having to sell one of my other under-used cookers if I'm buying another.
I pretended like I didn't hear her. She know that's not going to happen.

Well played. At "my" Walmart in Bellingham WA, the 28" is >$170US. The 17" is <$95US.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

You do know that anytime a cooker is designated as "underutilized" that means you have to use it in the next 48 hours or so - while acting like that was your plan all along - as a matter of routine.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

Absolutely, @foghorn. This ain't my first rodeo.
But I found out why there wasn't much resistance. She thought I was buying some kind of stovetop gizmo. Imagine her surprise as I lugged the box from the garage to the patio, to start putting it together.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

Aw hell no. Where? The 36" griddles were $200+. Swapping the 28 out for the 36 shouldn't be a problem if the price is right. I kinda like the portability aspect of the 28, and the intent was to take it camping.
The 28 is a helluva deal for 1 bill.
It hits 400s to 500s cranked up like the 36.
With the accessories stowed on the bottom, it's a nice little pull out and play, tuck away rig. No runnin' around grabbin' oil bottle, domes, press, paper towels, spatulas, etc etc.
The only con for me personally, is the shorter height.

I really wish you hadn't posted the link. I was able to resist checking before, but not now and it looks like they are available locally.caliking said:

I have been looking all over for one of these clearance priced 28s, but they are not to be found here in North Georgia Walmarts. A local Ace Hardware has it in stock for $219.caliking said:Actually bought one for a friend first yesterday. Only available at 1 Walmart in a 30 mile radius. Couldn't hold out any longer so went back and got one for myself .
Don't need one, but those smash burgers and stuff look fun to make. I'll keep hoping to run across one at a bargain price.
I ordered one of the RTIC 45 coolers today for a friend. Think he is going to appreciate it for camping. He knows nothing about the surprise headed his way, so I am looking forward to the phone call when it arrives. This friend is 72 and is kinda thrifty so he just would not buy one for himself, kinda like I won't buy the Blackstone for me unless I run across it on WM clearance.
Have you tried this link to locate one? It has been posted elsewhere, and saved me from calling a bunch of stores, or driving out to find they didn't have them.

one store by me shows it for $50 but have 0 in stock. Only two stores in my area have them but are going for $99.
Fortunately, I have the 36, but $50 would be hard to say no to. -
Thank you for the link and SKU. Zero in stock anywhere close but it did show one at $99 around 50 miles away. I figured it was worth the drive but called first and after holding while someone was kind enough to check, they eventually found it, and confirmed it was marked down, to $179. Would not price match $99. Oh well, did not hurt to try. Might still drive over there today and try in person. You never know, it might make for a nice Saturday drive with the wife and two little furry yappers.caliking said:

The kids gave me one of these for Christmas. Have been really enjoying it. When I told them I didn't want them spending that much on me at Christmas, my son said not to worry, it was cheap. My daughter in law is the ultimate bargain hunter. They did most of their shopping on black friday and got some nice gifts really cheap. I've told her if she ever gives up nursing she could hire out as a shopping consultant.

Well, I couldn't resist any longer either. I asked my wife this morning - "remember the griddle I showed you last summer? And all the things you can do with them?" She remembered. I then told her about this great deal at Wally World to which she said "let's go get us one. We'd be crazy not to"
. So that's all it took! Love that woman.
Heads up on the above link, though. It showed 6 in stock at one of the Wal Marts near me, but when I got there the clerk told me they sold their last one 3 weeks ago. I then went to 2 other stores within 10 miles of the first one and lo and behold - one of them had 2 left, so I bought both thinking someone else in the family might want one at $99. The link showed this store had zero, so go figure.Greenwood, IN | XL BGE | Weber Genesis | Blackstone 28 | bunch of accessories

I missed out on it at the store closest to me.
