I think it would be better tho if that device included a check valve so that folks could inhale/exhale thru the tube mouthpiece with the exhale gasses being vented outside the tube not far from the mouthpiece. 

Having to use one of those you would already be in a rather panic-y situation and some folks might be too stressed to try and keep inhaling thru the mouth and remembering to ONLY exhale thru the nose.
