The CharBroil lump at $10.99 a box is a good price. Stock up now. It won't be that price forever.

I see that price now. But it was $9.05 earlier today.

But I had a $100 gift card that I was given so it didn't cost me anything for the 3 boxes and the Kick Ash Basket.

I have another $100 gift card but I gave it to my wife. She gave it back but I need to clear that situation up some before I spend it. No biggie as I can get another free gift card next week or the week after.

I have had plenty of antifreeze. And I am rather awake, 13 hour jetlag isn't friendly. I could maybe manage the stumble...

Ok.....color me a fan of Wicked Lump. I used it on my brisket Sunday and this is the first time I have seen what was left. I had it to the top of the fire ring. Was at 225-250 for about 19 hours. Very impressed with what is still left.

Just bought an Egg?  Here is what you get to look forward to now:

Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night.  Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

Wicked good is a good lump for sure. Also very good for low and slows that you will like are the KJ red bag and FOGO. If you catch a Costco road show for KJ you get 2 22lb bags for $30 of the KJ lump that is every bit as good as wicked good. All these lumps are dense and heavy though so you burn the same amount of lump in weight as other brands it's just less volume.

    Wicked is good lump.
Charbroil is primarly birch charcoal. Not great firewood, therefore not great lump, unless of course you are using black birch, which is good. However, black birch is rare, and not found in massive quantities.
If you have had birch, as a firewood you know it decomposes rapidly, and if kept, must be kept or stored in a certain manner (dry and arid) or it is useless. It basically burns like paper, hot and fast. Birch lump shares some of the same qualities. It is great for hot and fast cooks, not so much on low and slows. Suitably priced, I suppose, for what you are getting.
