Well that was embarrassing...and PSA

My dome thermometer has been way low and I suspected I fried it with too many pizza cooks. I was about to order a new one, and decided to check the length of the stem of the factory thermometer to see how far it extended into the Egg. When I looked up in the the top of the dome, I was appalled to find the thermometer stem coated in about 2" of dried on gook that must have been slowly accumulating for years. I wish I had taken a picture. No wonder it was reading low, it had 2" of "insulation" coating the entire stem!
