Thermapen, Thermopop, Thermapen. anything else is gravy. Proper instant read thermometer will improve your cooking a million times over.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

All great advice, but 3 honestly won't get you there. Not saying a thing wrong with trying to start with 3, but I bet you'll find the number a little larger, unless you possess way may more self control than I ever hoped to have.

i went for maybe ten years with a thermapen and a spare grid and firebricks to raise the grid direct or raise it indirect. pretty much had all the otherstuff in my kitchen
the spare grid came off my weber. take your time, dont overthink it, i even went a few years without a dome gage
