HELL YES. That's 800 used in "clean" condition.

Just saw listed on eBay or $899. If it still works, I would think $120 is a great price.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

I rehabbed a unit at brisket camp that looked about the same. 3 hours of elbow grease had it working like new.

Terrible deal. Please send me the guys contact info so I can save you from him.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Great price as long as it works and doesn't make too many weird noises. And as long as you actually NEED a slicer. Don't forget, they take up a huge amount of counter space. And they weigh a ton!!!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Brother, if the motor runs vibration free and has no lag, the indexing assembly is smooth (no jumping, binding or bouncing) then it's a steal for that price.hoosieregged said:I will be picking it up this weekend.

I told him pending inspection, he said it runs fine he just doesn't need it. I probably don't "need" it either but have been wanting one and it will get used.Hamilton, IN****1LBGE and a MiniMax -
I would disinfect the hell out of that bad boy too.

Unfortunatley for me, my wants will usually outweigh my needs. That slicer is a heck of a deal if it's in any kind of shape at all. Short of severe damage, I would jump on it. Heck even if it needs some work (depending on what it is) I would probably still buy it.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Let's face it, for most of us here, we buy what we want, not just what we need. I mean we have nice ceramic cookers and other toys and stuff.SGH said:hoosieregged said:I probably don't "need" it either but have been wanting one and it will get used.

Is ebay the best place to find a sharpener? It does not come with that
Hamilton, IN****1LBGE and a MiniMax -
Nope- that's going to be from the parts store. Probably a couple hundred. Well worth it. The only problem you are going to have with this thing is that is massive and weighs close to a hundo.hoosieregged said:Is ebay the best place to find a sharpener? It does not come with that

I don't have any experience with slicers, but we have a local specialist who sharpens all kinds of blades. We use a lot of different kinds of blades in the flooring industry. For what a sharpener costs, you may be better off having it professionally sharpened occasionally. Assuming moderate use.

Agree with all. Buy it if it works. Hobart parts and service is outragious.....but they are built to be abused daily in the reasturant bitness. The sharpner is normally an attachment that you then apply to the blade. You do not remove blade to sharpen. A word of caution. You should go through a tutorial to learn how to properly operate, sharpen and clean one of these bad boys. They require utmost respect as you can suffer major injury if not expierenced with one. Enjoy your purchase......it is a great addition to the arsinal.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

You did not rehab that slicer. You caressed it lovingly until the dirt and grease fell off and then you applied fresh lube. And it was wonderful.Eggcelsior said:I rehabbed a unit at brisket camp that looked about the same. 3 hours of elbow grease had it working like new.They/Them
