No water, no Power and no overnight??? I'll have power and water on the RV, a sink and extra water on the big smoker. But how do we overcome the time crunch? Turbo everything?
EDIT" after reading more... will I even be allowed to bring the RV to the site? We need the supply truck!XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum -

We're treating this as an ordinary "Fest" where you cook multiple quicker dishes. However, I'm thinking of staying in the campground the night before. I'll have my Eggs on a trailer. I could get one working on the trailer for the next day, if a real long low and slow is in store. Then transport over to the shelter.Thatgrimguy said:No water, no Power and no overnight??? I can load up my stick burner the night before at the camp ground and just drive it over with food mostly done to the event in the morning. Looks like a easy drive.XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

As Matt indicated, most of the fests actually operate this way. Brisket camp in NO was... an exception.Thatgrimguy said:No water, no Power and no overnight??? I'll have power and water on the RV, a sink and extra water on the big smoker. But how do we overcome the time crunch? Turbo everything?

There may be options for doing L&S for people staying on site. I'm pretty sure that's what @piney is planning."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Brother Tar, if it works out to where I can come, I was kind of thinking the same thing. Getting there the day before due to my long drive. I will gladly help out with getting stuff going the night before. I don't sleep but about 4 hours a day so staying up cooking won't be any trouble for me. Will help any way that I can.tarheelmatt said:However, I'm thinking of staying in the campground the night before. I'll have my Eggs on a trailer. Sorry - I just saw this thread. I'm fairly sure this is late, but with a topic title like that, you just can't resist the obvious gutter humor...

This is a one day event and I can tell you that we have way to much food already! For the last 7 years I have attended a small fest at a hotel east coast of FL it's Friday and Saturday we fill the hotel and usually have 10 eggs to cook on and this year all but one were smalls and mini max. Every year we dump so much food in the can because we just cook too much and eat all day for two days.
We will most likely cook our BBQ pulled pork pizza, KayNOcooks famous easy apple cake and one other something I haven't figured out what yet! I will bring one of my large eggs with us.

Maybe I should get a hold of the local food bank/food shelter so we're not wasting?Jupiter Jim said:This is a one day event and I can tell you that we have way to much food already! Not a bad idea at all! we all know how many people a couple of butts will feed and we all need to think of this like a pot luck dinner, if everyone brings enough food to feed themselves we will have plenty to eat. I can promise that if someone cooks something that takes most of the day to cook everyone will be so full that it might go uneaten. Now if we want to feed anyone who shows up at the park!!!!! I'm not telling anyone what to cook or not to cook just hate to see great eats go to waste. Saturday at the Green Eggs and Weims the cooks that cooked turkey all day couldn't give it away because of the long cook time the tasters were just stuffed. We are looking forward to an awesome Egging time with friends.

You are to kind my friend. I may take you up on that offer. However keep in mind that I will have the Party Monster with me. He can be real annoying my friend.piney said:Scottie, I will be there on Friday and will have room in RV if you need it.
I'm thinking of doing just some stuffed chickens. They are fast and easy. And most folks seem to really like them. Due to there being no running water or power, I thought the simpler the better.henapple said:I might do some smoked chicken salad...
I sure hope that it happens. You are certainly one of the ones that I have always liked and wanted to meet my friend.tarheelmatt said:I'd love to shake your hand brother.

We now have music for the event!
Scott Gibson is a truly unique guy and tells a great story in his music. Most of his music is his own and does very few covers. I have heard him play a few times and have enjoyed it every time.
Planning on having Scott play from 1pm-3pm that day.
Check out some of his songs on Reverbnation HERE or link below.

This is one of the pictures taken for Scott, by yours truly.
