I'll agree with that @SkinnyV except I think Trump is only good for the campaign, he would probably be a disaster as pres.
RNC, DNC and who we put in Congress is the real problem. We have allowed a system to evolve where we have far lower expectations for our elected officials than for the waiter at our local Applebee's.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Honest question my friend. Do you see any way under the sun that he could possibly be as big of a disaster as what we have in office now? Honestly, I think Trump would be successful in uniting people against him. He's a bully CEO, a bratty kid that is successful when his is the only voice. He would probably be great in a political system where most or all of the power was consolidated in one position - he would be a great dictator.
He would most certainly piss off lots of people - some of that brashness may be refreshing, but most would probably be damaging and not help in the long run. It would be great if we could elect him to a one year term just to get a quick reset - scare politicians back into governing as their goal and not politics as their goal.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Sorry I missed this last night in the fog of Friday. In the cold light of day about all I will offer is ABC...Anybody But Clinton. She is a true snake and cannot be trusted. Who wants to save the Dems from themselves? Jim Webb was the best choice but he's gone. Could be a long-suffering campaign.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. @Legume you're right on, politicians need to get back to governing and do their jobs.

Things have calmed down and I certainly don't wish to stir them up. If you're curious about conservative principles, or viewpoints on many of today's world issues, here are a series of five minute videos that are aimed at framing some of the key issues from a conservative's perspective. The site was developed to provide the 'other side's' viewpoint, under the premise that this viewpoint is now largely under represented in public schools and universities. You can disagree or agree, that is not the point. It just represents an alternative viewpoint to the mainstream information that is out there.

Sorry, I cannot let this one pass by without comment. I feel like I'd be letting a friend down if I did. Here are some characteristics of Dennis Prager that I have observed over the years. He is slow to anger and does not participate in name calling. He is one of the most factually correct individuals you will find, and will make a point of correcting any errors he does happen to make. He strives for clarity and truth first--and states as much on his show. He has wisdom on a wide variety of topics. He continually proves willing to debate any and all that will have him. He is also a very courteous, respectful host when he engages someone that disagrees with him. Yes, if you Google his name you are sure to find pundits who will disagree with him, some in a not so gracious manner. This just comes with the territory. By the way, most of the videos on the site do not feature him.HeavyG said:

So when he claimed earlier this year that the drought in California was caused by the worship of a false god (in this case he claims the "false god" is Nature) he was being factually correct???mahenryak said:

His opposition to same sex marriages, which he has said is one of the greatest threats to America, is funny coming from a man that preaches morality and family values seeing that he is on his third marriage.
I get it, you're a fan of the man.
I'm not. He's just another name on the list of neocon chickenhawks.

Not exactly primary sources you are providing, here. He is often taken out of context, and flat out misquoted. I will stand by the fact that he is one of the most factually correct individuals you will find. Of course he has opinions. Having an opinion does not mean you are absent of facts. Yes, to each his own. I notice that you are not opposed to name calling, though. Interesting.HeavyG said:

Prager appeared on Glenn Beck's radio show earlier this year to promote his book, "The Ten Commandments: Still the Best Moral Code,". It was during that interview that he claimed Southern California's lack of water was due to the state violating the commandment against worshiping false gods.mahenryak said:

He was claiming that California is worshiping the false god Nature because so much water is taken from humans and used to save some small fish. Apparently the historic lack of rainfall (aka drought) is of no relevance at all to California's water woes. You can track down the recording of that show if you want to hear it for yourself.
He's certainly entitled to his opinions and his claim that same sex marriages are a grave threat to America is just that, an opinion. I guess the factual statement is that he did in fact make that claim on tv some years ago. Again, you can track down the video of that.
Calling Prager a neocon and chickenhawk is not "name calling". It is labeling. He is, in fact, a neoconservative. He is, in fact, a chickenhawk.
If I wanted to engage in "name calling" I would have called him a "stupid old boogerhead". But I would never do that because that's not how I roll.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
