You are not alone. However I have been known to just go ahead and eat the whole thing at times. The family has came up short on more than one occasion because of this. I feel your pain my friend.

    I'll do tasters sometimes.
I find that when I cook something other than meat, I am usually not hungry after, even without tasters. Once I go through all the prep and cooking, I just lose my appetite. But cook a ribeye and I get more hungry.

Chef treats. Yes Sir we all do it. Gotta taste it to know if it's right. My photo ops sometimes get cut short and everyone is like "aren't you gonna eat?". "Later.  Let me know what y'all think.". Point being I don't serve it unless it passes my palate. And I'm my own worse critic. I now get brutal honesty from my family and I'm grateful for that. If it sucks I want to fix it not repeat it.

I remember someone on here posting how whenever they made a spatchcock chicken, it always came inside without the wings. My chickens now seem to have the same problem.

I will second SGH, i have been known to graze heavily while cooking. I did two chickens and ate one by accident. I forgot company was coming. My wife was NOT pleased. I saved it with steaks i had in the fridge and called it a second course. Now i get a reminder from her and when stuff gets close to done she will come take it away if it is intended for someone other than us.

I'll be the contrarian and say that I rarely do. I don't look kindly on others trying to sample what I'm cooking (before it's ready) either.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

    You need therapy.

SWMBO asked where the end cut of the eye of round went and I told her I gave my St Bernard grilling buddy a taste to which she immediately asked why is it that you have sauce on your chin? Me and the big girl share everything!

Probably! I'm really an easy going guy but some things just don't sit right with me (like nibbling before serving). I also get annoyed if the toilet paper is not put on the roll draped down the back as opposed to over the top.

Everyone knows the paper has to be over the top of the roll, otherwise the maid can't fold a little arrow head on it! Geez.....
