My New Large Egg Thread

It's in my car on its way home with me!!!

I'm so excited. I bought it unassembled as I want to put it together myself so that I can familiarize myself with the unit and all of its nuts and bolts so that when something goes wrong, I have a sense of what the thing is made of.
I don't have a table yet since the proper height is still a concern (I'm in a wheelchair). My dealer was nice enough to allow me to borrow a nest to use until I determine the correct height and order a custom table. I am leaning towards a Brian Alan table with a powder coated base and granite top.
I hope to use this thread to document my progress as I learn how to master (OK - competently use) the egg.
This forum has been great for answering pre-purchase questions and I look forward to paying it forward.
Thanks for the support!

Good man for putting the egg together yourself. It will definitely help with names and the mechanical aspect of it. Ask away with questions. Always someone willing to help and answer questions here on the forum. Welcome!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Put mine together myself also...helps with the learning curve when you need to ask questions...congrats.Lbge and MiniMax in Southern Manitoba

Did the same thing! Not as hard as some people make it! If you can lift the parts and tighten some bolts then you will have it mastered! Enjoy egging!Large BGE - 2014

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten!
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing! -
Those tables look good...any idea on pricing?Lbge and MiniMax in Southern Manitoba

You can google and download all types of different tables. I bought the material and bottle of whiskey and my neighbor had me a table pretty quick one Saturday.

I put mine together and my hands are all thumbs. Congrats and welcome

Welcome, enjoy putting that thing together - there were two boxes, right?
Torque those band bolts and check them and all other fasteners after the first few cooks.....Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
One box. Should there have been two?Two Large Eggs, 6 gal Cajun Fryer, and a MiniMax in Charlotte, NC - My New Table

I believe the only egg that comes in two boxes is the XL. When picking up my XL they forgot to give me the additional box since all the other eggs come in one box"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Just kidding - MBGE, LBGE and XLBGE used to come in two boxes, One had the ceramics, the other had the bands and hardware. It is my understanding the MBGE and LBGE come in one box now.HofstraJet said:One box. Should there have been two?
Interesting to note the Primos come in box on a skid, fully assembled.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
Just got an XL because I gave my large to my daughter. The XL comes in one box and the nest comes in the other

On another note, how do you start your own post? I can comment but can't find a way to post new

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Congrats on taking on the assembly-and as mentioned if things start going sideways, ask away and someone will be along to help.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
All kidding aside, there is supposed to be a second box with the band, hardware, etc. Back to the dealer I go. Ugh.Skiddymarker said:Welcome, enjoy putting that thing together - there were two boxes, right?
