Just talked on the phone with a life-long friend who lives in Wichita Falls,
He says the weather has been nuts.
He's lived there for about 25 years and is thinking about leaving Texas.

Talk about getting the food straight from the egg to the table; sweet!

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

I have family in NW Houston. Everything is saturated there. At least they are on higher ground, and have their non floatables on the next level up.

We're bracing for it in Dallas...the pumps are out on Loop 12 under IH-30.

On a selfish note....my Sales Engineer that I support is 900k away in sales for meeting his target this year.  600k shipping over the next 15 days and 300k shipping next week, here in Dallas....I got a feeling we will likely deliver the 300k but I can't see us delivering all of that 600k thanks to "Bill".  Poof goes the bonus...

I was thinking along similar lines, but did not execute. Winds are supposed to hit 40-50mph here today. I gave the eggs a kiss and a hug though last night, and told them to be brave.

Were bracing for it just to your north in Oklahoma too.  We're saturated too, the lakes have already overflowed and are full.  There just isn't anyplace to store the water so some will be overflowing again.  Texoma had 5 feet of water flowing over the spillway last month and it's only a couple feet below the spillway now.  The 6-8" they are forecasting is just going to end up hitting you guys again, sort of a double whammy.  I knew the 5 year drought would get broken eventually but dang!

I hope this doesn't keep happening because it supports the world-wide conspiracy theory that 97% of the entire world's scientists are trying to pull on us innocent citizens.

I know this is OT but it's a shame that he doesn't get his target for simply closing the business.  Unless he is in charge of Ops too he shouldn't be held accountable for delivery (weather or not).  Just sayin.

Yep....no such thing as rain, floods, droughts, hurricanes, etc., etc., before the invention of the Model T.

@chadpsualum gotta invoice to get the big bux.  Closing only gets us 10% of the full possible commission dollars attainable

Boy, I can't argue with that kind of logic.  Oh snap!  I'm burned.

@Angus1978 I understand what you're saying.  I've just seen cases where sales people get screwed because of something beyond their control (Operations Issues, Installation Issues, etc...).  I don't think you should pay the bonus/commission immediately on closing but I do think that if a job is closed during a pre-determined period, that commission/bonus should be accrued and then distributed once the receivable is paid.  That's just the way I did things.
