I hate to hear that some have had problems with their dealers. I have been very lucky thus far. Never a problem at all. Just a suggestion if you are having dealer trouble. Contact the Mothership first. Maybe a approval by them up front will help. I don't know this to be fact, but it sure stands to reason.

I registered my first LGBE three years after I purchased it.  I did not have a receipt.  Had no problems replacing a cracked base with a different dealer than I purchased it from.  I have also just replaced the fire ring on it with a third dealer.  No problems again.  I am lucky to have lots of good dealers close by.

I recently had a problem with mine,  didn't want to fool with my warranty issue.  I emailed BGE and they have responded and wanted a photo of my cracked firebox.  I sent it in but haven't heard back yet.  It sounds like they will likely help me.

I called the Mothership when I registered my mini. Wish I could remember the fellows name that I spoke with. He was very kind and went out of his way to help. I give the mothership 2 thumbs up for their help. Try calling them and I bet the issue will be handled swiftly.

That is the guys name that I am emailing with.  I sent him the pic yesterday but haven't heard back yet.  I'm not too worried yet, I am sure they are always super busy.  And also I am not out of commission by any means, still have the large.

Also I think he was more worried about the bad experience with the dealer.....I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble, just wanted my warranty.

My dealership ordered a replacement upper fire ring for my almost 4 weeks ago now.  Still no fr.  This dealership also said that they have real problems getting things like  a spatula and last year a customer ordered a $3K table - and cancelled after it didn't come in for more than a month.  I have 4 dealerships within a 5 mile radius.  4 of those within 2 miles.

SGH said:At times, folks ask is BGE really worth the extra money. My answer is absolutley yes. This was replaced no questions asked and without hesitation. My hat is off to BGE and the best warranty in the industry. The mini is now back in top form and ready to roll!!
fairly broad brush there, while the warranty as written is as good as a warranty can be it's only as good as the distributor and/or dealer that the customer has to deal with in order to make a claim which in my case it was one of the worst warranty experiences I've ever had.  Ultimately my situation was resolved through the help of a distributor over 100 miles away that went above & beyond for me but that was only necessary due to the local douche essentially telling me to go f myself when I tried to use the warranty.

I never activated my warrantee back in 2006, I really didn't know there was one, and when my large base cracked 8 years later I found that the dealer I bought it from went out of business. The dealer that took over for them, American Backyard only had records back to 2009. Long story short I sent photos of the crack to American Backyard and they replace the base that week no questions asked….I guess you know my answer.

My Egg is 18 plus years...bought it for a steal on Craslist. Firebox had a crack for a long time, decided to be proactive and order another ( they are not much money) went to the dealer to buy one, he said " lifetime warranty" I told him I was not the original owner, he offered to send in a picture and give it a try. I told him I was totally fine buying one, not putting it in until the other one fails.....bottom line good dealers go out of their way for their product

First let me say that I would have whipped the $hit out of this guy. Second I'm glad to hear that you ultimately had your issue solved. In my opinion, poor service or a pissy attitude from a dealer is out of the motherships control for the most part. However if you bring it to the motherships attention I'm more than sure they will rectify the problem or at least make good on the warranty. They have helped me out when really they didn't have to. There is a-holes everywhere. However that is not a reflection on the mothership its self. The guys in Atlanta have always been kind and very helpful.

Unfortunately anytime you get a group of people one is bound to be a jerk.  If you are in a large group and they all seem good, then chances are you are the jerk.

Measure of a company is how they handle poor brand advocates.

I am not looking forward to the day I have to make a claim.  My dealers do two orders a year, the spring and the fall, that is it

I feel that if you explain this to the mothership that they will accommodate you and not make you wait a half a year. The folks in Atlanta want to keep you happy and they do good job of it in my opinion.

After still not seeing the fire ring, I sent a note to the warranty dept earlier this week stating the issue.  After speaking to the distributor for this dealer, the warranty guy said he would handle it. He requested a pic of the broken ring yesterday and today said the new replacement was being shipped.  Apparently the dealer never actually got it ordered.

Nice to know the mothership knows when to step in and just handle it. Will probably not use that dealer for anything else...

They are very good about this in my experience. When dealing with the mothership, my few issues have been dealt with on the spot. Hard to ask for much more than that.

@onedbguru ... ask your distributor for a recommendation for a good dealer in your area.  And, consider sending a note back to BGE commenting on what great service/assistance you received from your distributor.

I almost bought a Kamado Joe before my BGE but went with the BGE because of the warranty posts I saw on this forum!
