our new way for burgers….

It did happen, sorry no pics, I was ravenous after work and completely devoured supper. We do the burgers the usual way, direct at 450, add some BBQ sauce and then flip the burgers, add some more sauce and then the cheese. We did sauté some mushrooms. Had sliced pickles, and tomatoes. But the new thing is to wrap the burger in lettuce instead of using a bun. Nice little crunch when you bite into it. I am sure a lot of you already do this, but if you haven't tried it, give it a whirl. Not needing a bun any time soon.

What's also fun is to give the burgers an Asian spin and do this.

@smokesniffer - further to what 'celsior says, never heard of this and you may be onto something. Many Chinese eateries in Richmond serve dishes with meat that you put on whole iceberg lettuce leaves, roll like a fajita. Never thought of trying with burgers.Eggcelsior said:What's also fun is to give the burgers an Asian spin and do this.In smaller slider sizes this would also be a good appy or using different sauces to get a variety, great idea.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -

Speaking of lettuce, I've done this Korean pulled pork couple of times, nice change from regular pulled pork:

Hey Skiddy, we have a Chinese restaurant out our way called The Capital, and they do something like what you are saying, and man are they good.Skiddymarker said:

@Canuggegg, I'll bet that is tasty too. Lettuce would give it a little snap when you bite into it.Canugghead said:Speaking of lettuce, I've done this Korean pulled pork couple of times, nice change from regular pulled pork:

Indeed, the rice helps to soak up the sauces so they don't drip all over, as well as cushions the snap!canuckland

In-n-Out Burger will server you a burger in lettuce rather than a bun if you order it 'protein style'
it's messy good, nothing to soak up all of that grease
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
@Legume. We don't have In-n-Out, out our way but I had their burgers in Cali. Our neighbours got us onto the Secret Recipe. Ur right it is messy

Lots of places offer burgers in lettuce wraps. Catering to the Atkins diet crowd and their morphs.

I do iceberg sometimes for my burgers, but I really like to use Boston bib lettuce. It is usually firmer and holds up better as a "bun".Large and Small BGECentral, IL
