Getting paid to egg (not really but kinda)

I work for my father in law, and today was his birthday, and for lunch I cooked him his favorite meal which happens to be grilled chicken.

I told him on Monday my wife wanted to have him over for lunch today, and he said there wasn't any need to make a fuss about it. When I told him I planned on egging chicken for lunch his face lit up! He said that would be perfect and that I could leave as early as I needed to in order to get everything ready. I have found that when you tell someone you are planning on egging it changes things.

I left around 9:30 this morning and came home and cleaned both eggs out and loaded them with Rockwood and lit them. I used hickory for smoke and cooked 6 breasts raised direct on each egg at around 375.

They were perfect and came off the egg right at noon. It was a great meal, and he was very happy. My parents came over as well. I didn't get back to my office until around 2 this afternoon.

It was 59 and the wind was blowing today. Freaky cool for us in September. Overall a great day!
